So I guess there is no point to upload it.

VC-1 and EVO access?

Is there a way to add the ability to open EVO files?

Or, at least, to open MKV files that contain VC-1 video?

I'm trying to archive my Hd-DVDs (since they are now officially extinct ) and most seem to be VC-1. So ifVC-1 can be added, that would be the greatest thing since they invented sliced bread!!

Thanks!

This request pertains to all the conversion GUI's. I have read through most of the pages of this and the other GUI threads but not seen any terminology guides. For people used to only one click conerters like DVD shrink an explanation on each of the main settings and how they effect conversion and movie quality would be very useful . If someone has the time it would be much appreciated.
All codec settings, bitrates, buffer sizes etc
Thanks for any help

I have the same problem witha PS3 mp4 I made - size is 4.2gb - plays on PC but PS3 shows as corrupted data . Same reason I guess? If so is it because consoles not using NTFS file system?
Rather than re-encode the whole file (took 20 hours lol) - Is there a simple way to split the mp4 file into 2 parts without losing any quality?

20 hours???

I have heard this from a lot of people here.

I wonder why it only takes 4 to 6 hours on my machine?

I am going to re-encode from the original disk with only one pass keeping the original size.

This should keep the re-encode time down greatly.

Hopefully this will work for streaming to XBOX360.

20 HOURS - was encoding a 2 hr movie ( dog day afternoon ) 4m bitrate 1920x1080 HD using the PS3 4.1 profile - Core2duo E6600 2gb ram . Do you have a much more powerful PC or are you encoding to lower settings?

Yeah I guess I do.

Quad Core Extreme 6850
4GB Ram
1TB Raid(stripping)

I usually pick 2 pass and use about the same settings.

You couldn't add that mkv due to bug in my app. (Videos without audio didn't work). It will be fixed in next version.

Quote:
here you go, 37.5MB, 1280x720x119.88fps divx6.8 mp3
Decimate from 119,88 -> 23.976 will be also added.

Last question, so this next try even with smaller file size and my better understanding still created an MKV that has the audio die about 15 to 18 minutes into the movie (exact same point.)
Fixed. Wait for new version.

Atak_Snajpera - I read that you had trouble with Casino Royale - I am about to re-encode this bluray movie. Did you manage to sort out the problem with this?

thanks muchly.

while I'm thinking of, drag-n-drop would be nice too: drop a file onto the main window to make a queue item, then hit edit. or maybe put a drop list for profile selection on the main page also.

Just had problem with BluRay Chicken Little . Program finishes at the end of Pass 1 - with "all jobs done"- video.264 is zero bytes and no movie is created. Tried twice with same result. I tried manually running job1_EncodeVideoPass2.cmd before closing the program and cmd message is x264 error - cannot find job1 stats. Job1.stats.temp is in the temp\job1 directory tho.Text in pass2.cmd is:
"C:\Program Files\RipBot264\tools\x264\x264.exe" "E:\Temp\RipBot264temp\job1\job1.avs" --pass 2 --bitrate 6408 --stats "E:\Temp\RipBot264temp\job1\job1.stats" --level 4.1 --sar 1:1 --aud --nal-hrd --vbv-bufsize 14000 --vbv-maxrate 25000 --filter 0,0 --ref 3 --mixed-refs --bframes 3 --b-rdo --bime --weightb --direct auto --subme 6 --trellis 1 --analyse p8x8,b8x8,i4x4,i8x8 --8x8dct --me umh --threads auto --thread-input --progress --no-psnr --no-ssim --output "E:\Temp\RipBot264temp\video.264"

Any suggestions to fix ?- I saved all the temp files before closing Ripbot.

Also - soory to ask again but is there a simple way to split my 4.2gb mp4 files - I actually have 2 of them and would rather not re-encode the whole movies again.
Thx for your help.
