Blade Trinity and very low bitrate?
I am backing up Blade Trinity (R1) and I am using the Big 3, with Batchencodem2v. I ran it thru DIF and it comes up with an avg. bitrate of only 1160. How can that be? That seems extremely low to me. I know that movie is 123 mins. and has a DTS track, but it still seems too low. Anyone else have any ideas as to what might be the problem? Anyone who already backed this movie up get the same bitrate or higher? Thanks.
Edit: I also noticed that is has 2 pgcs and they are both close to 2 hours long each. May be seamless branching or something? Last edited by hoops10; 3rd May 2005 at 22:47. |

Currently dif4u does not automatically select vobid for seamless or non-seamless branching. so you would have to do that (select vobid) yourself. if you need help figuring if its non-seamless branching, feel free to paste the ifo summary *from ifoedit*. (seamless will say -ilvu- in the summary in ifoedit)

demux this vts by vobid.
should work out fine. as you can see there is no seamless branching, so scenarist/scenaid should reproduce this perfectly. personally i would make sure you have the 'add silence to vobid demux' selected in the audio options of scenaid, and use the new 'create new d2v/avs using dgdecode' option as well. good luck j |

jel, if I do it by vobid, won't I still get the repeating vobid 1 in both pgcs, thus skewing my bitrate to a low value? I was told (by some knowledgable people in the irc chan) to demux pgc1, encode it, and then demux pgc2 by vobids in order to get vobids 2-10 and then manually put it back together in scenarist. Do you know of an easier way?
