converting "native" xvid mkv back to "compatibility mode"

is there any way to convert "native" xvid mkv (codec id:V_MPEG4/ISO/ASP) back
to "compatibility mode" mkv (codec id:V_MS/VFW/FOURCC, XVID)?

because of older hardware that i have i prefer using fast divx5 DS decoder
which cannot accept the native mp4v subtypes..
