Sys 2 - AMD PhenomX4 940 @ 3.2GHZ 4 GIG DDR2 1066 Ram Vista Ultimate 64 would take about 12 Hrs about 8 months ago ..... could shave off an easy hour by over clocking it to 3.7GHZ. Processor wouild run about 90% on first pass and peg at 100% for second pass.

SYS 3 - AMD PhenomX4 965 @ 3.2GHZ DDR3 1600 Ram Windows 7 Pro 64 takes about 5 hours with Auto Settings and I can shave off about 1.5 Hrs with it over clocked to 3.9GHZ and about 6 hrs with High quality settings. Processor wouild run about 90% on first pass and peg at 100% for second pass. Depending on the movie I get about 75fps first pass and about 15 -21 fps Second pass the odd movie would get down to about 12 fps but not too often.

The Processor does make a big diference.
Wow. I'm jealous. Oh, well... I'm gonna' get one of those high-end computers when I grow up.

@ bassnut: don't get me wrong but it looks you're comparing apples to oranges

a x4 940 @ 3.2ghz and a x4 965 @ 3.2ghz (the clock speed of the 964 should be 3.4) will not result in 12 vs 5 hrs.

the used settings (you mention auto in the case of the 965) and the length of your movie are what matters.

but i do agree that a quadcore makes a huge difference.

before BD RB i used a x2 6000 (2x 3ghz) for conversions but i ended up with the usual 20+ hrs conversion time.
then i bought a x4 945 which now runs @ 3.45ghz and encoding times vary from 1-10hrs depending on quality setting used and number of frames to encode.

First of all, thank you for this excellent software.
My case is with the movie THE HANGOVER REGION A. I do a BD25 full backup, but the UNRATED VERSION has the audio desync. The teatrical version does not present any problem. I tried all the versions of BD-rebuilder for the last two months. But every backup has the same problem.

I posted some time ago here that I'll create a small tool to check user PC Directshow capabilities of decoding AVC/H.264, MPEG-2 and VC-1, so here it is:

Download link (3MB) (self-extractable 7z exe)

Contains:

Code:
.\multiTEST\multiTEST.exe - main executable
.\multiTEST\calclib.dll

.\multiTEST\testdata\test_AVS.JPG
.\multiTEST\testdata\test_H264.m2ts
.\multiTEST\testdata\test_MPEG2.m2ts
.\multiTEST\testdata\test_VC1.m2ts
.\multiTEST\testdata\x264.exe

the used settings (you mention auto in the case of the 965) and the length of your movie are what matters.

but i do agree that a quadcore makes a huge difference.

before BD RB i used a x2 6000 (2x 3ghz) for conversions but i ended up with the usual 20+ hrs conversion time.
then i bought a x4 945 which now runs @ 3.45ghz and encoding times vary from 1-10hrs depending on quality setting used and number of frames to encode.
When I was using the PII 940 the settings with BD Rebuilder were allot different then now as they would compare to the High Quality Settings which takes about 8 hrs with the PII 965. I could run a quick run with the PII 940 to see what difference the settings make now with a recode but don't see the point unless someone would like to know what the difference is. The clock speed for my 965 was just a typo yes stock is 3.4GHZ though I am running that at 3.9GHZ now.

Error messages aren't of much use out-of-context. Can you provide the entire log and also the results of INSPECT.EXE?

I tried to post the entire log bit it exceeded the amount of characters available.
I see that others have posted a type of insert that allows you to scroll up and down within the post.
Can someone let me know how to do this?
Thanks

Just put CODE tags around it. See the "#" at the top of the dialog when you are entering text.

Also, (assuming you use ImgBurn) go to:

Tools >> Settings >> Write Page 1 & make sure these are checked:

DVD RAM/BD-RE Fast Write
Prefer Format With Full Cert
Prefer Format Without Spare Areas
Prefer Properly Formatted Discs
Prefer Format Size "Maximum"

I'm not sure how many of those are default? If you don't check "fast write", you'll only burn maybe 1x. With it checked, my LG burns at 2.3x. And, if you don't check "without spare areas" (& maybe "Maximum"??) you'll end up with a disc that is undersize (I think it was 1.5GB??) compared to a BD-R.

HI jdobbs:

Ohhh, i just saw updates! LOL. im with the version v33.07! Still having no troubles. I have installed ffdshow 3466 version becuase ripbot264 inspect for a newer version. If i have issues, i install recommanded version.

My post is about my system. I personally got an AMD Phenom II X4 940 3.01GHZ Black edition and also 8GB DDR2 dual channel installation (2x2GB DDR x2) and with windows 7 64bit edition, and it's rocks!!!!

If you take one quad-cores CPU, i recommand you to BUY an CORSAIR H50 Liquid serie CPU cooling for less that 100$ us and it make a huge difference for stability, lower tempeture, also i never reach max tempeture anymore. 10 degre celcious lower in 100% used, 4 cores at 100%!!

Your not obligated to purchass the newest processor! If you have an AM2+ motherboard, i recommand you to just change the processor. It's what i've done. I sell my AMD dual core 6400+ AM2 and my motherboard was compatible for AM2+ and AM3 new processor.

It's sure you can have an better processor, but it cost me just 145$ for a great upgrade! Newer processor their are all the time expensive.

Anyways, AMD will release Six-Cores soon. They are not accessible for now.

If you made the upgrade, you will never get unsatisfy! *sorry for my english*
