Casino Royale

Anyone else tried ripping Casino Royale?

Dvd DeCrypter won't touch it and when ripping it with Smart Ripper, and get a weird looking output file (attached) Dvd Shrink won't process it...

Something I don't know?

Hi!

Try ripping your DVD(s) using the easy to use "RipIt4me" package (Incorporates RipIt4Me, DVD Decrypter, FixVTS, and DVD Shrink). You can download this excellent freeware from:

www.ripit4me.org

While you're at that site, read the excellent "how to" tutorial...

BTW - FIRST start RipIt4Me, THEN put the DVD into your drive...

Some guys around here used to have problems ripping "Casino Royale" even with RiptIt4Me, however the latest beta update patch did the job. It should be downloaded separately, unzipped, and the main executable file should be substituted. Hope that works fine.

Hard to understand why that would be necessary.

I continue to use (and used for "Casino Royale") RipIt4Me v.1.6.4 successfully.

Again, with the recent (last 3-4 months,or so) SONY releases, the critical thing to do is, as I said previously, FIRST start RipIt4Me, THEN put the DVD into your drive.

Doing so prevents the initiation of the "Autorun.inf" file (The running of which can confuse your PC into "not finding a DVD" in your drive).

BTW - The autorun files on the SONY releases DO NOT contain anything insidious or potentially harmful to your system...

are you guys talking about decrypting DVDs in the General section of that forum ;D

and setarip_old... now you have introduced a third colour to us - an even darker blue... you're driving me nuts. Reading your comments in the past is like being on speed... don't you think that a normal (black) colour format would suffice - you can still use your bold style of comments

You are mistaken - it's simply the same blue color bolded ;>}

Perhaps a moderator will move this thread to "Decrypting"

Casino Royale

I downloaded and used Ripit4me and it worked without the patch. Thanks for the info. It's appears to be a good program.

The "free" version of DVDFab Decrypter, is also very up-to date with the latest encryption busting algorithms

I successfully ripped Casino Royale with RipIt4Me 1.7 but it has a weird audio delay. DGIndex gives it a huge delay (like 91843ms or similar). Does anyone have the correct audio delay? Or is there a way to sync up the audio for x264/aac files? I was hoping there was a way to scroll through the movie and look for a slap or gun shot, then in the audio, find the peak where it happens and line them up or calculate the delay difference. Maybe I'm asking this in the wrong forum...

True, but why take the chance with any autoplay? I kinda subscribe to turning it off entirely as set out in the RipIt4Me documentation.

See section 3.2.1 of the guide. It explains it all. Do a movie only rip.

Yes, anyone who leaves AutoPlay on is asking for trouble. First thing I do after a new XP OS install is turn it off in the registry.

If I keep DVDFab updated, I have not had a problem with any movie.

Why use 2 or 3 different programs.

The "free" version will let you decrypt just the movie or the whole disk with no problem.

I also successfully ripped (in movie only mode) this title, and my audio delay after demuxing the AC3 stream is somewhere in the neighborhood of -144ms.
