@skafidask
You have to use MPC builtin subtitles engine.

I can't use MPC bultin engine because in EVR it is not supported, also i don't get any dxva2.0 with EVR custom even on files that don't have subs. I use powerdvd x264 decoder with vista 32bit and 8600gt and in EVR Vista mode a get full acceleration but when i use EVR custom i don't get any, i don't think that custom EVR renderer is EVR at all, or at least it doesn't work with powerdvd decoder.
Most of the people here don't even know when DXVA 2.0 is on or off when they are playing x264 because they have good cpu's and the difference is minimal. My CPU when i am not using 8600 acceleration i get 100% so i really know when i am not getting any HA. |

In EVR custom only the "presenter part" is replaced (i.e. the display on screen). I don't understand yet why DXVA is not working with custom EVR

To clear things i am saying DXVA 2.0 is not working, i am sure others in here can confirm this as well. Maybe instead of changing EVR the best thing to do is change the subtitle engine to work with EVR VISTA i am sure this can be done since EVR can have multiple inputs as VMR9 did.

After a little searching i found that BSplayer has support for an EVR subtitle module(on the changelog of 2.20) so it should be possible to include support for subtitles in EVR as they did.
Has anyone tested BSplayer to see if the module works correctly? |

I don't think VSFilter is designed to work with multiple input at all (transparent rendering and all that, the way BSPlayer and MPC internal do it), it requires a video input and a video+subs output. It'd be a good redesign, because it's probably never going to work with DXVA otherwise.

@ Casimir666:
would it be possible to add an "exit/quit" option in the right click menue of mpc? I think that should be quite handy ...

@Casimir666
I updated to the latest version (v1.0.8.3) and the registy settings from the previous version (v1.0.8.2) were not loaded. are you sure that having the version in the title bar is not causing this issue?

@Kado
It should use the original Gabest registry key now as asked : HK_CURRENT_USER/Software/Gabest/Media Player Classic/ ...

New try with a different DX9 allocation method : http://rapidshare.com/files/37568481...0.8.4.zip.html Does it change something? Be careful, this release is only for DXVA tests (shader resize will not work).

I tried 1.0.8.4 with VMR renderless, VMR 9 mixing, Bicubic A=60 etc etc, and the cpu usage was at least half as that of 1.0.8.3 with the same settings, so whatever you did worked for that! however, with 1.0.8.4, in EVR custom mode, the far right of the picture is a flashy colour vertical bar.
And no, all this was with Direct3d off, so the CPU usage thing was interesting?... |

burfadel as casimir666 said you got the less cpu usage because shader resize was not working or something, we are trying to test the custom EVR mode to work with 8500/8600 dxva 2.0 because it is not currently working.
Casimiri666 i think that as long as you are working with dx9 calls for the renderer we are not going to get results, since dxva 2.0 works only on dx10(At least in vista) i don't know if the same happens in XP as well, because nvidia said it will get it working there as well somehow. |

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb530107.aspx http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms704727.aspx DXVA2 negociation is the responsability of EVR and mixer so it should work with my custom presenter. I think there is something wrong with my surface allocation but what... DXVA : 3, Casimir : 0
