New Tool! AVStoMPEG

I made a new tool for Avisynth. I think it could be useful for other people, too. But be careful, it is a Beta-Version.

If i understand well it's a tool to convert avi files to mpeg files, right?
I've got some questions:
1)can it convert only avi files or also an entire dvd?
2)can it process only the video part or also the audio one?
3) just to know, what are the differences with some other apps like DVD Rebuilder or DVD2SVCD?

thanks for submitting this!

This tool generates avisynth-scripts and encodes this scripts with HCBatch or CCE. You can cut scenes and you can use the transall plugin for avisynth to make transitions between scenes. every scene can have its own filterchain (avisynth-script).

the source can be a video for AVISource, DirectShowSource or MPEG2Source

it can process only the video part AND also video together with audio. it uses WAVSource and the NicAudio plugin for Avisynth. AVISource and DirectShowSource can have audio, too.

AVStoMPEG is not intended for DVD recoding but you can use it for this, too. I made this tool because i wanted to encode some videos from my miniDV camcorder to MPEG-2. i used avisynth to get a decent image quality in my videos. but i hate it to write those avisynth-scripts which contain sometimes plugin functions that have 20 or more parameters. so i decided to make a GUI for avisynth with all the features i needed: avisynth support for denoising, sharpening... videos, scenes cutting, scene transitions (with TransAll), titles (with SubtitleEx) and encoding with CCE or HCBatch.

Hi,

I am really interesting in testing out the program, as it looks like something that would be very helpful, but I think the download is corrupt. It wants to save as extension .7z and even if you change the extension to .zip (which I assume is archive format) it will not open.

Cheers, Steve

I think most people (including me) are a little afraid to try this tool because it requires sooooo many other programs
