Standalone with QPel support?

Hi
I've got a question! I bought a Kiss DP-1100. It supports many formats,as well Xvid. All of my movies are in Xvid and i used QPel (quarter pixel!). But this Player isn't able to play xvid files with quarter pixel. Now I've got a question:
Can you name some standalone dvd-players which supoort xvid with Qpel? (i'm from germany, so i will need a german player!)

Hi,

Mine does (Peekton 6006), it has a MTK 1389 chipset, more info here: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=98228

Also the divxtest: http://www.divxtest.com/form/divxtes...t.php?lang=eng

If you take the time to search the hardware and player section, you will find lots of infos.

Cyberhome 4620 or another player, with MTK1389 chip.

For details you can see http://mtz.softpedia.com/. This pages is for wonderful alternative firmwares, for MTK1389's players. Very good thing.

Thanx for all guys. I think I'm going to buy the Peekton 6006 or the CyberHome 4620. And I will sell my Kiss DP-1100. ANd next time I'll wait and read guides before buying a new DVD-Player.

All players fitted with MediaTek's MT1389xx range of chip-sets support Q-pel. As do players fitted with Zoran's Vaddis 776, 778, 886 and 888 range of chip-sets!

For more info look here. And here.

Cheers

Which includes the Philips DVP-5140 and DVP-5960 which are much easier to find in the US.

Here is a nice review you might find interesting:

Yes ofcourse it will...

Whether it be Xvid with Qpel or DivX with Qpel, it all conforms to the MPEG-4 ISO/IEE specification

That's weird! My Kiss DP-1100 plays DivX5 with QPel, but I plays not Xvid with QPel! It just plays Xvid without QPel!

Thats kind of weird...

Can I patch alternative firmware.

Are you sure you're talking about Qpel and not GMC...

That said, I'm not sure whether Sigma's EM8500 chip-set even supports Qpel...

Neither does QPEL, its just over hyped by people who don't know how to encode right.
