You can't presets are rooted on the default values, thus Hybrid resets first to the default values and then applies the changes associated especially with the preset.

I have been using this to quickly encode to HEVC with my Turing nVidia graphics card. The relatively, compared with other software, advanced options is a big reason why I use it.

However I have found that the encodes only come out with CAVLC and not CABAC entropy encoding. Can anyone tell me why this is so? Is it all that nVidia NVEnc can manage or is a setting that I am using incorrect? Is there a way to enable that to improve the compression/quality?

Thanks in advance for all input and help with this issue.

Framerate Mode "Variable" is also suspicious

In this case definitly 'Original frame rate', also if the source really is a Blu-ray vfr is wrong, so ignoring time codes when importing with Hybrid is probably a good idea too.
(wondering if 'email notification' will ever work again for subscriped threads,...)

Yes, if you save a 'Configuration' those settings are naturally saved, same if you save a global profile or similar.

I apologize for the inaccuracy.
Apply the currently selected configuration "Ультра" - the parameter Hierarchical range ME range: 16/32/48 will be loaded > change to 16/16/16 > re-apply the currently selected configuration "Ультра" - the original 16/32/48 did not load.
It seems that this happens if the name is in Russian.

What I did:

• Start Hybrid
• save a x265 configuration under "Ультра"
• enable "x265->Motion->Motion estimation->Hierarchical M.E."
• set "x265->Motion->Motion estimation->Hierarchical M.E. range" to "full/full/full"
• change "Encoding mode" to "average bitrate (1-pass)"
• apply the "Ультра" x265 configuration

-> "Encoding mode", "Hierarchical M.E." and the "Hierarchical M.E. range" values have all been properly reset.

It seems that this happens if the name is in Russian.

Could it be that the profile isn't loaded at all?
May be some file system encoding vs Windows language coding issue?
-> no clue atm.

The profile is loaded, but it is not possible to restart this setting again.

The too large font for 'Target mode&Co' is a bug with some tooltips which happend when switching to Qt6 -> will fix for the shown instances.
About the other 'bug', looking at the video:
- you apply "rskip"and the range ist set to 16,32,32
- you manually change the rante to 0,0,0
- you apply "rskip"and the range ist set to 16,32,32
- "Ультра" and the range stays 16,32,32
- you manually change the range to 0,0,0
and then the cinfiguration is not applied (no clue, why)
- you apply "rskip"and the range ist set to 16,32,32

-> tried the sam here, couldn't reproduce.

Ccould it be that you "Ультра" profile is an old profile which was created with an old Hybrid version and the profile simply doesn't contain any:
