common OCR errors with apostrophes
Hello and thank you for a great program.
I was wondering if there is a solution to common spelling errors through OCR: often I find that words like 'weren't' come through as 'werert', 'mustn't' come through as 'mustrt', and 'won't' come through as 'wort'. Is there any way to automatically correct these common errors? |

SubRip 1.50 Beta 2 is up. I guess it's safe to say it's the last one for this year .
ChangeLog: Fixed the detached chars problem. Fixed UniCode support to preview CodePage changes. Other bugfixes. Some changes in the video GUI. Reverted to Delphi 7. @gubi-gubi: Can you please confirm if this version still needs to be run in Windows95 compatibility mode? Last edited by ai4spam; 31st December 2005 at 14:58. |

Thank you for your reply. Does the program automatically use the English_screwed.lng file? Or do I have to somehow load or run it???

It uses whatever you choose next to the "correct ortography" check box. So, you can write your own file.
Careful for things like "wort"->"won't", which leads to "worth"->"wont'h" - put spaces at the end. This example is already done in the latest version. Mail me the file if you make signifficant additions to it, and I'll include it for everybody. |

Is it just me or splitting a sub using an AVI file doesn't work? I've gone back to 1.30 and it works fine, but with 1.50b2 I cannot find the 2 files that it's supposed to save.

@Dreassica: Are you using the latest version (1.50 Beta 2)? If not, please get it and report back. Again, the desired behaviour is for a save dialog to show up when you press the "Save" button after you're satisfied with the conversion.
Also, please look on the previous page of this topic, another user reported similar issues with 1.50 Beta 1 that he fixed by setting it to run in Windows 95 compatibility mode. He says the problem is gone in Beta 2. |

Other download locations: Doom9.org / DVD.box.sk / DivX Digest / AfterDawn.com / Softpedia / Free-Codecs.com ... English Unité-Vidéo Board ... French Freeware World Team ... Galician The links are there for the taking. And they're usually pretty fast to mirror new releases. |

Sirs, I have noticed a problem when ripping portuguese subs. The problem involves having a high accent on the bottom of 2 lines. This involves an accent on a capital letter, such as É or À
Example: Eu sei. É uma garota. Subrip will either do one of several things: 1) read that accent in the bottom line (É) as the first character in the top line 2) merge the accent into the first character on the top line 3) will require that the subpicture be typed in manually. 4) or it will read it correctly |
