About Canopus DV file converter and the Canopus codec

Well, as dvd2svcd user I use the canopus codec and the dv file converter to get a dv avi type 2. But my doubt is, when you open with WMP, a dv file that has been converted, which codec will be used to open it? And when it will be used then? Internally by dvd2svcd?

I change the fourcc from cdvc to dvsd because gspot would say that the codec isn't installed despite the canopus codec is installed. I could open at wmp though but I would see the interlaced lines and after changing the fourcc I don't, dunno why.

Thank you jorel for responding but I'd really like to know how the canopus codec is used... Still haven't figured it out.

I think the easiest way for you to get the answers you are looking for is to use a demo version of the codec. Then when you see the logo you know it is being used for playback.

i was thinking that you had procoder instaled in your system .
if you install procoder it works but,
if you never install or unisntall procoder it don't work!
