Brightness problem with 2.62 in D2S

After doing a few encodings with 2.62 I found that the picture was too dark. In order to reach the same brightness level as in the original picture I had to adjust the luminance offset to 14.

I wonder if others have noticed this problem, if the offset is a constant for all encodings or what the reason might be for the dark picture.

I should mention that 2.50 does not produce a darker picture than the original. How is the VFAPI envolved here?

Thank you, Bach for your quick reply. However you got me here. How do I frameserve with avs+link2?

I would love to go back to 2.5 but for some reason the freezing problem doesn't let me finish my encodings anymore (after another re-install of ME - it was fine up to this memorable event). So, I am afraid I have no choice as to employ 2.62.

Have there been other threads, complaints, solutions to this question? (You didn't appear to be surprised after all .)

Thanks again,
t4a
