Free AVI/MPEG/WMV/MP4/FLV Video Joiner error

I wasn't sure where to put this, I hope this is the right sub-forum. I'm running W7 Pro.

Using Video Joiner (truncated title) from FAVsoft;

Merging two mp4 files (a movie originally from a single DVD that was split), I receive an error that the 'output file is empty' which makes no sense since it was just created. The program stops the second I try to start the merging with the error. I tried it numerous times, but the same thing.

Any ideas here?
