Lower Thirds With Video

Hey guys. I'm trying to find some information on what is the proper term for the Lower Third type of graphics where there is a video embedded in them.

For example, those annoying lower thirds you can see on the Bravo channel or on Animal Planet where a video of a person is part of the lower third and it shows the person walking across the bottom of the screen.

Is there a different term for those or are they still just called lower thirds?

My other question is, does anyone know where I can get my hands on an example of one in any kind of video/container format?

Thanks. Any idea where a simple example of one of those can be obtained? I'm just curious as to what format they can be in for whatever NLE Software. I'm sure each one has its own proprietary format...
