lost audio when splitting VOB chapters?

Hi, My DVD player reads VOB files off a data disc just great. Perfect DVD quality but no way to rew or ff. The only problem I have been having is when a chapter is too big for (1) 700MB CDR and I have to split the chapter up. I then lose audio on the 2nd have of the split but the 1st half is fine. Can anyone tell me why this may be happening and how I could possibly fix this? BTW, I am ripping with smartripper 2.36. Thanks
