No subtitles in MPC with mkv file...

Ok I have two questions. One, I am trying to play an mkv file in Media Player Classic. This file has English subtitles, but for some reason MPC is not letting me even view the subtitles menu, it's just gray. However when I click properties, it shows "Subtitle: Advanced SubStation Alpha [English (Subtitle 1)]" plain as day.

I tried playing it in VLC, and the subtitles work FINE, however the 5.1 audio does NOT. VLC only lets me play two front speakers and two back.

So does anyone know what could be causing either of these problems? Obviously a fix for either one would solve all my problems. Thanks!

1) Enable "auto-load subtitles" in the options.
2) Select a video renderer in the options that is compatible with the internal subtitle renderer.
