AC3, Surround and DVD questions.
I did as much research as i could, but i still have some questions.
First off, what exactly is AC3? I know that it contains 5 audio channels, but, if i have a DVD movie with AC3 sound, would i be able to hear it in surround sound? (aka... with 5 speakers) Also, i've read guides here for converting Stereo to Surround, AC3 to surround and such, but the main question is: How do i insert that surround sound back to the movie? Is there a muxer for that? And lastly, anyone can give some good advice as to how to do a good convertion to surround sound, i mean, how to do it and what settings to use. I've read that each sound channel has to be encoded differently. Please post anything that can help. Thanks

I think you should be more considerate to others, you weren't as knowledgeable as you are now, and you should know better, for you were a noob before @neuron2: Thanks for helping out, it is good to see good mod quality around here @raquete: Thanks for all your help I've read the article in Wikipedia, it was very informative. And also, i appreciate the help you give. Please keep it up, as others benefit from this info as well Kudos

In face-to-face conversation, those simple 4 words would have had the intended tone and your most probable answer would have been a simple "No, why?". But is not the way it happened so something intrascendental became an "issue". I think these posts will help u create a more funded opinion on my posting nature: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=110462 http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=110607 http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=105225 http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=107354 These threads can actually also help u about AC3 encoding. And this one : http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=107391 See u around (if u still want the help ).

Mmm, it stroke me as odd as well, given your so called reputation, that you decided to reply that way! Quote:
You didn't even make an effort to apologize for your rude comment, instead, you try to justify your actions by using your seniority. No harm done, but, i think this could serve you as a wake up call. Maybe you need to re-evaluate where you stand. Other than that, i read all the threads that you posted, and you are right, they contain very useful information. Thanks for that
