8K @ 120 fps demonstration with actual hardware from NHK

Youtube video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3l0lvwGZFR4

From Youtube description

8K 120Hz demo by NHK Japan Japanese NHK public broadcast R&D group shows their 120Hz 8K display and camera (at 144GB/s through optical) by Hitachi (red/blue/green prism sensors) and Astro (single image sensor) that I filmed here: http://armdevices.net/2013/10/03/wor...y-astro-japan/ Japan wants to just leapfrog 4K and go directly to 8K testing 8K broadcasts starting in 2016, with full massive deployments targetted for 2020 where everyone in Japan will maybe be able to receive 8K TV.

The camera with three sensors uses a cable with 24 (or 20?) fiber strands carrying the raw 144 gbps stream.

Side story:

An interview with a guy from hdmi licensing, discussing hdmi 2.0 which allows 4k @ 60 fps (18gbps)
