Nero seems to have problems burning .img files!
I've heard that now a few times.

I'm going to check it out myself with Nero.

I have used Ulead DVD MovieFactory to burn .img file with. The only thing you most do is rename Image.img -> Image.iso

I guess the answer was posted here

Ulead DVD Movie Factory burns the image (rename image.img ==> image.iso). B's Recorder Gold writes the image without any changes, DVDit writes the image if you change the name from "image.img" to "image.image"
btw: I don't have a DVD burner yet. This means that I cannot do DVD->DVD(+-)R. However, I am monitoring this scenario since few weeks. It seems that now there are two easy ways to do a safe backup:

1) the source is smaller than 4.36GB:
a) rip with DVDDecryptor using ISO mode;
b) burn this ISO with a compatible software iso-dvd_style burner (Ulead Movie Factory for example);

2) the source is bigger than 4.36GB:
a) rip with smartripper using BACKUP mode;
b) follow doom9's guides for this kind of stuff;
c) create a dvd_image file (this step probably will be in doom9's guide);
d) burn baby, burn....

Just found a solution for that!

In a couple of hours, I am going to release a new IfoEdit, that will also burn the image-file to DVD-RW !

Wow!!!

btw: what about if you add a ripper (some internal routines) in your tool? The user could strip things out and generate the image file "on-the-fly"...

btw 2: now that your tool is much more than a "simple" Ifo_editor, what about a new name for it? Maybe DVD2DVDR or MPAAkiller ?

ohh. I almost forgot to say: Great Work

Finished so far.

Here you can find a new version v0.87:
http://briefcase.yahoo.com/derrow/

I've tried to test to create a image and burn it directly with IfoEdit, but it seems, the implemented module only supports to burn DVD-Rs and not DVD-RWs.

If somebody could check it out with a DVD-R, that would be great.

IfoEdit won't burn to dvd-rw.

chum - Primo does it direct - just use global image burn and then change the file suffix at the bottom
