compressibility check and filters in gknot

I just ran a compressibility check on a movie to see if i had a good resolution.

I am using divx4, the movie is quite grainy and my first attempt at ripping it turned out bad, so i thought i would try the compressibity check this time.

so my question is when i select the noise filter in gknot does it use the filter when doing the compressibity check? i did the check twice , with and without the filter and got the same results (41% @ 576x336).

So if it doesnt take into account the filter, what difference would it likely make to the compressibity of the movie.

thanks

also any tips on encoding grainy, modern, colour films would be appreciated.
