Need help with Patlabor OVA DVDs
I've recently been trying to find a way to restore these horrendous DVDs to any semblance of quality, but I've been having a hell of a time trying to restore the progressive frames before I move on. Every single frame shows some level of interlacing and all attempts with deinterlacers, tfm, decomb, etc. have all yielded less then great results. So now I'm asking if anyone else has any ideas or if I should just live with the fact that it the original progressive frames can't be restored. You can download a clip here.

That looks horrible. Perhaps consider "TemporalSoften(4,255,255)" to make the blending more consistant ...
Seriously, on top of all the double-blending there's even more ghosting from way too strong temporal smoothing. Not much hope, I'd say.
