Could someone please explain robo method in laymen's terms

I have been trying to figure out how to do the method and still no luck. Ive read the guides (robshots) and climaxo's and still cant figure out how to do it. I know I should be able to figure it out, but cannot. I can do the 1-pass and get the mpv file, etc. I dont know what purpose Chapter Extractor serves or why I would need it and also, how do I get dvd2svcd to work with the 2-3-4-5 passes with the extra settings?

If someone wants they can email me at lonewolfhowls@hotmail.com on a complete explanantion because I am either dumb or something is lost in the translation, probably both, but I need some help here guys.
