ASPI Layer - URGENT HELP NEEDED

Hi

I'm ripped DVDs to VCD a few times with no problem, using Smartripper, DVD2Avi and TMPGEnc

Recently I upgraded my OS to XP from 98 and since had problems, and i have been told this is becaude with XP you do not get an ASPI Layer at all

The exact problem i have is.......after ripping the vob files to my harddrive and using DVD2Avi to create an d2v file, in TMPGEnc i select the Video Source as teh d2v file - however it doesn't like the file.

Is this to do with the ASPI Layer, if so where can i download an upgrade

Thanks in advance

The ASPI layer is only used in the actual ripping stage - i.e. From DVD to HDD.
If you cant rip from the DVD, THEN you have an ASPI problem.
In any case, you can install an ASPI layer using the program known as ForceASPI which you can get from Doom9's software page.

ok m8 - i'll try forceaspi - thanks for you help

i can rip from dvd to hdd but i'm not sure if its doing it properly cos teh d2v file i make from the vob files doesn't work when i load it as teh video source in TMPGEnc - is this anything to do with aspi, as i could make vcds when i was using 98 which came with its aspi layer

thanks again
