. "Menu -> Flter -> Sharpen -> ...Sharpen ...Sharpen Edge ...Sharpen More ...Smart Sharpen ...Unsharp Mask" . . Question. . Which functions and scripts in AviSynth are corresponded (~equal) to functions in PhotoShop ? See text upper. .

A couple of questions
I've been fiddling with the settings of this filter --- great one, by the way, so thank you Didée --- but I have to ask, what is the equation implemented by it? I'm playing with lstr and pstr and though I see some changes, I have no exact idea as to what I'm changing exactly. Also, I am not sure that what the exact effect of ldmp is mathematically --- I can SEE an effect, I'm just not sure what it is that I'm seeing.

I've been testing various denoiser and sharpener combinations for post-processing of 1080p60 Cineform (Filmscan 2) avi exports graded in DaVinci Resolve. Unfortunately, NR is only available in the Studio version of Resolve and I'm using the free version. Denoising before importing into Resolve would mean transcoding the native clips (HD-AVC.mp4), which is a PITA.
Testing KNLMeans with Finesharp there is definitely some benefit in a 10-bit pipeline (p210) even if the final target is 8bit 4:2:0 - I'm seeing less sharpened residual noise than when processing in YV12. Typical script: Code:
LWLibavVideoSource("{Path}:\Cineform_export.avi", fpsnum=60000, fpsden=1001,format="YUV422P10") KNLMeansCL(h=1.5) Finesharp(sstr=3.0) ConvertBits(8) ConverttoYV12(interlaced=false) Are there other AVISynth sharpeners with HBD support to test? Edit: Oh, I see LSFMod was ported for HBD also. https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.p...05#post1813105 That's good to know. Haven't been on the forum for a good while.
