HELP! Please! DVD Rebuilder and Casino Royale

I ripped Casino Royale Region 1 with AnyDVD 6.1.3.0, edited with DVD Remake 3.5.3, and then used DVD REbuilder 1.22 to fit onto one disk.

I received the following error when trying to burn with CloneDVD 2.9.0.3:

"VTS_09_0.IFO" read error

Please note that CloneDVD could read all files in the VIDEO_TS folder after exporting from DVD Remake.

I'm wondering if anyone else is having problems with burning Casino Royale after using DVD REbuilder 1.22 to compress?

HELP!!

Spamlover

P.S. Note that the original rip of Casino Royale contains approximately 200 VOB files in the VIDEO_TS folder.

A log file ....

of DVD RB would help allot.
You can try make an iso Img from your project with imgBurn and then try to burn it with imgBurn again.

one more thing, before turning it into iso file run fixVts on the full DVD.

all the software I mentioned (fixVts,imgBurn) are free and can be downloded from www.codecs.com

enjoy.

Silly question, but why use CloneDVD to burn the final result, when you can use IMGBurn which is FREE, and have DVD-RB burn the result automatically when its finished, also IMGBurn produces very compatable burns

I do use Clone DVD myself, but prefer to let DVD-RB do a better job and have it ready and burnt when its finished when I get home from work or the morning

Also, for problem DVDs, I now use VOB Blanker and also have the added advantage of removing the rubbish like FBI warnings, forced adverts and movie trailers, and such like

Plus it fixes possible errors that may make other software complain, and this is FREE as well, and can do a lot more with practice

I'm about to release an updated version of DVD-RB. This version is more robust in the way it handles inherent IFO goofiness. I ran it against that DVD (NTSC, R1) with only AnyDVD as the ripper and it worked fine.

Thanks for your help guys and your quick responses. This forum is the best!

Steptoe... I've used DVD-RB for a few years now... but only to compress to fit on DVD-5. I've never used IMGBurn. So, are you saying that I can select "IMGBurn Directly to Disc" from the "Mode" menu and it will burn the DVD after i use rebuilder?

If so, that is way too cool. Perhaps I'll find that IMGBurn is more compatible than CloneDVD on these DVD's with a million VOB files. I'll try it and let you know what I find.

jdobbs...did you burn the disc after you ran DVD-RB on it? If so, what program did you use to burn?

Thanks,

Spamlover

I let DVD-RB create the ISO (via MKISOFS) and burn (via IMGBURN). I also watched it -- good action movie. You'll find that most of the 99 VTSs are not referenced and DVD-RB removes them.

Is this a recent thing? Since it did not seem to do that with Saw III

See this post above.

DVD-RB has done the removal of unreferenced VTSs for quite some time. But the next version (I'm releasing today) does it more robustly.

Although the new version notification hasn't been mailed yet -- you may want to click on "Check Latest Version" on the DVD-RB Pro "HELP" menu -- as that always gets updated first.

I tried the above procedure (rip with AnyDVD, edit with DVD Remake) and NEXT I used DVD-RB 1.22 in conjunction with IMGBurn as Steptoe suggested.

Here is the error message I received from IMGBurn:

"Fix VTS sectors failed! Reason: VTS_09_0.IFO is not a valid IFO file"

Here is the log file from DVD-RB:

I'll try the new DVD-RB today and let you know what I find. I don't think the problem is with DVD Remake because CloneDVD will read the files after I use Remake without a problem. Not so after I use Rebuilder. Doh!

My suggestion:

1. Read my last post.
2. Download the new version.
3. Do "Casino Royale".
4. Watch "Casino Royale"

No need for DVD Remake or any other program in order to do this disc with DVD-RB v1.23.

By the way this post:

would probably also have fixed it.

I'm not sure I get you here. I use DVD Remake to remove unwanted languages, previews, extra features, etc. This reduces the amount of compression needed as well. Is there another program that does this better?

thanks,

You can do all that with DVD-RB. But there are lots of other features that make DVD ReMake a great package -- so don't think I'm not a supporter of Dimad's software.

Sorry to be contrary to this, you know I love your program, but there's a simple reason why I always use DRMP in front of RB if I do a backup which contains menus: The ability to get rid of other menu languages. The vast majority of the dvds I've seen contain more than one menu language. Even if I keep english audio (what I usually do) I strip all languages beside german from the menu which often results in half space for the menu or less.

If any disk ends up with lots of unused VTSs that for some reason DVDRB doesn't handle, consider using the Delete Uncalled PGCs function in PgcEdit. It's almost a 1 click total cleanup.

As rippraff knows, PgcEdit also has the ability to remove LUs and, in conjunction with FixVTS, retreive space.

Users with bloated menus should also consider MenuShrink

I also did Casino Royale (NTSC/Reg-1) (Movie Only w/ English Language & Subs) last night with just AnyDVD 6.1.3.2 Decrypting & DVD-RB 1.22 & CCE SP2 with no problems. Movie looks great when burned onto a Verbatim DVD-R using Imgburn.

* Just updated to DVD-RB 1.23.1 this morning..nice update

Hi Rippraff.....
could you not simply remove(under RB) on the unwelcome language from the window "input/setting"(with a doubleclick) or from the window setup ?
If you can't do, why?

Because this would only affect audio or/and subtitle streams.
