I copied a small evo file using anydvd and the same evo using backuphddvd. The anydvd evo stutters and skips barely playable and the backupdvd evo plays fine.
this was due to a player bug if I remember correctly, a bug that muslix64 fixed with his program that wasn't really a bug but a shortcoming of the player (powerdvd or windvd)

You don't have to "start" then "stop" a movie.

Guys, please post Anydvd-hd questions on slysoft forum. This was more an "Announcement" thread as many have been waiting for this application. I guess comments are ok but this is not a "Help me with Anydvd-hd" thread. Go to slysoft for that.

I had some minor stutters, But after moving my USB connections from an external power hub (360 addon and HDD's) to and internal USB card and re-dragging the evo files from the disc seems to have help. Only did two discs last night....finally I can back up The Searchers and Mutiny on The Bounty

I found that out later. It just takes time for the disc layout to get set up with Anydvd I guess. Was impatient, also my PDVD is set for auto run... Thanks .

it's on the fly, just copy the files to your hd!
if anything works open you're hddvd drive and you should find 4 folders, 2 of them named anydvdhd and sly!

Well, if this was merely an announcement and didn't wish to stimulate discussion here, why didn't you post it in News? I also refer to your post 8.

We are not a front end for the slysoft forum.

Discussion is one thing and to be honest, a LOT of people were anticipating this software. I just didn't want to start a thread where people were asking for help/support with this. If your fine with it, then great! I keep your reminder fresh in my mind for future events though.

Feel free to move this to the "News" forum if you wish.

Regards,

@guile - As i said before, now it has been released, I am happy to have this thread here and have it as a place where our members can discuss their experiences with this new beta.

As a Slysoft beta, I am sure you can carry these experiences back to them.

Regards

Fair enough. I was under the impression that support type questions might have been frowned on, and that was why I posted that. I am more then happy to help out in any way I can.

Btw- If you haven't already tried it (I bet ya did it is pretty damn impressive.

In light of the fact that this commercial program has "appeared out of the blue", one has to wonder if this might be a situation similar to DVD Shrink's author purportedly taking his/her work to Ahead NERO as "NERO Recode"...

I tried this in a "I want to play a movie through DVI" situation, and this doesn't work with Power DVD 7.2. My own rip done with the java gui works fine. If I try to read a HDDVD on the DVI display PDVD just crash, staying on screen.
So it seems I'll still have to rip my HDDVDs for some time...

Did you try dragging the files to your HD also to see if that works? It worked for me. I also had to try playing it 2x the first time bacause PDVD crashed out.

A minor difference. Just surprising to see a commercial product (regarding a topic of this magnitude) just "pop up"...
