Problem with x264_64bit.exe

Hi Dean,

for some strange reason, the "Use 64bit version of x264 encoder" option keeps disappearing (i.e. getting greyed-out) from the "Settings" page after a project was run.

I actually can't determine a pattern. I can check the box, run a project, everything's fine. Next time I start multiAVCHD, the 64bit option is unchecked and greyed out, and the only thing that helps is using the "Reset all to default" button. Then, I can check the 64bit option again. Am I maybe using some other option that automatically disables the 64bit x264 option...?

I'm using the latest build on Win7 x64 machine.

Thanks for your help, Dean!

Best,

Gero

The option is disabled and should stay grayed out. I posted about this few weeks ago. Since I'm unable to make 64bit x264 to work with 64bit avisynth the option will not be available. Whatever you're trying to do, multiAVCHD will always use the 32bit x264.exe, so don't try anything

@Deank
My music compilation works if mastered to a DL dvd (does not skip chapters though, even with GOP=1, if I try to skip it hangs)[AVCHD built of course], but does NOT work if mastered to a BD-RE (media not supported error).
ImgBurn and "Folder mode".
My standalone asks for no multisession and finalized BD-RE in specs, but how to do it with ImgBurn in Write Folder mode? Should I go with ISO mode instead?

My standalone is a Panasonic BD60E firmware 2.1 (the latest).

Any hint?

Hi Dean,
I have another suggestion : to be able to see the ts files when we add video files, because if we have a lot of ts files to add, we have to click on "files type" and choose ts for each ts file !
And to be able to open several files at the same time and not only one by one would be also great.
Thanks for your work.

Can you post your log? Chapters should work if they're set in the CUE file and multiAVCHD processed them as songs. GOP setting has nothing to do with chapters. If you're burning a BD-R/RE disc, then you need to use "Blu-ray output" in multiAVCHD, not AVCHD for optical media.

Give it a try.

You can add multiple files from the "Open file" dialog. About .ts files - you can use the drop-down and select *.ts... also you can DRAG&DROP files to multiAVCHD instead of using 'Add video' button. You can also type asterisk * in Open file dialog and you'll see all files.

Build 715:

* Additional information added in meta data of menu playlist files
* Added support for FLASH (.flv) / VP6 video files (transcode only!)
* Added additional transcode-retry with FFMS2.DLL if directshow fails

Yes: when I burned to AVCHD I choosed AVCHD.
When to BD-RE I choosed Bluray build mode.

AVCHD: I guess it is pretty much standalone related.

Here I've two issues:
1)Chapters
2)BD-RE "Not supported" error.

Must be said that with Total MT 3 and my bluray burner, chpaters are working and BD-RE too.

I can't see anything wrong in the LOG. Your player is PAL, right?

Player and Tv set are both PAL/NTSC capable. They can switch among modes without any hassles.
I've just tried (note that this time I've used ImgBurn/Iso mode).

Same error message: "unsupported..."

Cool, it works now, but when I tried the first time, MultiAVCHD crashed.

That's what I said but it's long.

Good idea, it's much more fast !

Cool, I didn't know that.
I explain for jerks like me (because I needed at least 1 minute to understand that trick ) : we have to type the asterisk beside "file name" (where the name of the file appears when we have chosen it) and click on open, then all files appear in the list.

I'm doing some more experimenting with audio compilations (more later), meanwhile I've some "standard" questions.
Suppose I've a bluray rip and two dvd rips.
Bluray comes lebelled as PAL yet it is encoded as 23.976.
DVDs are PAL (720/576@25fps).
I'd like to make a compilation out of this material and burn to a Bluray (not AVCHD).
How should I handle the two dvds? Re-encode them to be AVCed (and resize to 720p) or just leave 'em untouched?

Thanks, Dan

It is always better to leave video in its original resolution / framerate. Because your player is both PAL and NTSC compatible, it should be no problem to have mixed content within the same disc/compilation.

Ok
But one question: should I leave it MPEG2 or should I encode it AVC/H264 ?

Thanks, Dan

It is up to you. If you want to save space - encode to AVC/H.264 - otherwise leave it as MPEG2.

Thanks.
Some light after the tunnel...the "unsupported.." error has been addressed.
Worth mentioning once again the environment for other mates here.
Windows Vista Home premium SP2+all latest system updates
ImgBurn 2.5.0.0 (AnyDVD disabled)
LG BD-RE BE06LU10 external usb 2.0 latest firmware
Standalone Bluray player: Panasonic BD60 with latest firmware
Media: Sony BD-RE, 25GB and 50GB

Now...where was it the problem? ImgBurn formatted the two media correctly after a couple of retries each. Without errors I mean.
Apparently, Deank. Story turned into being quite different.
So...I just went to explorer and formatted the media there (UDF 2.50/2048).
No errors and...media (blank as just been formatted) were inserted into the Panasonic standalone and correctly detected without any errors.
mastered a multiavchd project via ImgBurn...standalone went with no problems.
In short: ImgBurn did not work with my burner and that media as far as formatting is concerned.

What next? I'll check chapter skip issue mentioned in previous post.

Cheers, Dan

Try this in your registry:

1) change permission in

(32bit) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectShow\Preferred or in

(64bit) HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\DirectShow\Preferred

Right-click the “Prefferred map and select “Permissions”. By default the only user with permission to change these keys is “TrustedInstaller”. To take control select the “Advanced” button and go to

the “Owner” tab. Select “Administrators”, check the “Replace Owner on subcontainers and objects” checkbox and press OK.

2) delete whole \Preffered folder (don't forget first to make a copy/backup of Preffered folder if this guide doesnt work for you)

3) change VC-1 decoder to wmv9 (FFDShow Video Decoder Configuration)

Good luck.
