extra content
How can I create a video dvd-r with a directory of extra files? Many commercial dvd's have material that is accessible when the DVD is accessed from a PC which is what I am trying to do.
I have and can master my dvd using pinncale expression, but am unable to figure out how to get the extra directory on the dvd-r. I also have nero 6.0 on my system as well. Thanks for the help Brian |

"Extras" are no different to "Films" as far as the player is concerned and there are guides for that.
Extras are usually in seperate Title Sets = vts_02_0.ifo/vob A simple way is to copy these extras to a new directory and re-name them to look like this: vts_01_0.ifo vts_01_1.vob vts_02_0.ifo vts_02_1.vob vts_03_0.ifo vts_03_1.vob etc. Then use DVD Fab to make a new Video_ts.ifo That gives you a working structure and you can navigate with the remote. If you want menus too thats a different story. |

Well, just add the files like you would do for any data compilation. For instance, in Nero, create an 'EXTRA' folder under the DVD root, and drag your files into it. Same for RecordNow, etc. I usually add artwork to my music DVDs. evb62 |

extra material
evb62 is correct that I am trying to add an extra directory in addition to the video_ts and audio_ts directories.
You mention just adding the new directory off the root using Nero. I have done this to create a compilation with... 1. a new directory with content 2. a video_ts directory with the vob, ifo, and bup files copied from my master dvd. Though then when I say to burn the compilation I get an error saying the video_ts.vob is not referenced and should not be present. This is a file that is present in the video_ts directory on my master dvd. Suggestions? Thanks Brian |

Most of the dvds I have seen have the extra (pc related) content under a routine sub folder(activision) and the startup up files in the dvd root

works despite error messages
I removed the video_ts.vob file which nero said was unnecessary. It also gave me an error saying reallocation had failed. However when the burn was completed the dvd was playable and had my extra content.
thanks to all for there help brian |
