Install question:
MKVtoolnix says its an unsupported version even though its the version that StaxRip downloaded and installed. When I say to get the right version it goes and gets the same unknown version. Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong? |

This looks like a great program (I really need one to encode H.264) but the one thing I dislike about it is how many programs you need installed. I eventually downloaded all except one (that means having doubles of some on my computer), AviSynth. I already have the version DVD-Rebuilder uses. I can't upgrade nor keep the version which comes with it.
It's a great program, just too much hassle. Do I need to have all? |

It's convinient to have all these apps inside StaxRip, rather than specifying path to EACH of them and downloading them MANUALLY. StaxRip is SIMPLE and easy to use, yet powerfull enough to do some amazing things. And Stax really cares about this simplicity.
P.S. StaxRip's size is nothing, comparing to DVD wich you SHOULD have on you HDD to process Also, StaxRip's components usually don't install themselves anywhere, so they will not conflict with your own set of tools and utilities.

Bug: MP4 contaier "Tools->Commandline preview" displays wrong filenames for audiotracks (ex. displays "VTS_01_1 01 en-English 3_2ch 448Kbps DELAY 0ms.ac3" instead of "VTS_01_1 01 en-English 3_2ch 448Kbps DELAY 0ms_AudioOutput.mp4" ), but muxing itself works fine.

I had the same kind of problem, in my case staxrip was not implementing force film properly. What i used to do was that i used dgindex manuallay, then d2v file was the added to staxrip instead of vobs and the job was done properly. The problem was solved automatically though ..

Hi Stax folks,
I am trying to backup my DVDs using X264 through Staxrip. I can successfully do everything except for adding Subtitles. I would like to add forced subs directly to the video and add English subs into the mp4 container. This way I do not have to turn on Subs to see the forced subs that should show anyways. Can somebody help me out on how to extract the subs from the DVD for Staxrip to see? |

Hi dvd_maniac,
I personally use VSRip in staxrip,load it up,point it at the correct IFO,set the target path..sit back and wait Fire up staxrip ,and point it to the .idx file,select langauge I tend to use a mkv container,but should be fine for MP4 EDIT: Just re-read my post,just to make it clear VSRip is a third party program,just google for it.
