Opus audio in AVI files???

According to a *BLEEP* who has hijacked the article "Comparison of video container formats" @ wikipedia, Opus audio is supported by the AVI container
Since he's just an elaborate parrot, here are my questions:

1) are there any sample .AVIs that contain Opus audio?
2) if the answer to the above is "yes", then how they are created?

According to the help screen of the command-line Opus encoder, it's possible to create constant-bitrate streams. But I don't know whether such streams are strictly-CBR or actually just average-bitrate...

Also, I am aware that there is no TwoCC for Opus audio.
Of course there exists a GUID number for Opus which could be used with the WAVE_FORMAT_EXTENSIBLE thing, however I don't know any application capable of writing an "elementary stream" of Opus audio...

IIRC AVI does not require constant bitrate, only constant framerate. Which - again IIRC - the standard Opus encoder does support.

You are correct. But CBR audio would make things easier — for example, by adding a proper .WAV header to the "raw" stream and using the option "Audio from other file..." in VirtualDub.

Anyway, since Opus was created originally for the Ogg container, I serious doubt the Xiph people would not intentionally make things harder for anything created by Microsoft

since ogg vorbis is possible in avi (see: https://cdn.hackaday.io/files/274271173436768/avi.pdf) I don't really see a problem from putting opus in it,....

Well, so I can already conclude that the answers to the questions above are "NO" and "NOBODY KNOWS"

Sadly the "editor" who hijacked the Wiki article about multimedia containers has ZER0 experience with digital audio and digital video, he is merely a "bureaucrat" so to speak...
The idiot even ignores that the VP codec series created by On2 has been stored in AVI files since the year 2000 or so -_-

Actually I wanted to demonstrate that the wiki-idiot that I mentioned in the first post is wrong.

Hmmm...

I didn't find that particular "talk:" Wiki page. Only this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compar...tainer_formats

Does this guy frequent this forum?
