Faster .M2V creation
Hello All,
I am currently using AVISynth 2.5.2 & CCE to create blank MPEG2 Video Streams which must be DVD compatible, using the following .AVS line: BlankClip(length=2500, width=720, height=576, fps=25, color=$000000) Where 'length=' changes depending on my requirements. I do not care about the video quality as they are for Audio DVD compilations. But I need the Video Streams for the DVD creation process in DVDMaestro. Does anyone know of a quicker method to create .M2V files of a given frame length? Or does anyone know of a method which allows DVDMaestro to accept stills as the video segments of its movies? thanks for any help MattO |

Put the same bmp one more time in the timeline. It sure cost less in space than inserting a real video. After all 255 secs r 4mins. U only have to insert a max of 20 bmps.

I thought that if you put a psd or bmp file into the video part of a movie timeline, moved your pointer over the end of the clip until it changed into a bracket looking icon, then clicked and dragged, you would be able to stretch that clip to any time that you wanted.

OK, this tip is for HUGE time saving, since you want to create different durations of black videos.
Since you have one black video, let's say 1 minute. Instead of encoding for hours with CCE, just place multiple times the video in the timeline and right-click and select "Export MPEG from timeline" Actually it merges the videos without encoding, so in about 1-2 minutes you can have easily a 4h video... Another tip is that if you have a 1min video, it's irritating to drag&drop 240 times the video to timeline! So, just drag&drop 10 times to create a 10m video, then import it to Maestro and now drag&drop the 10min video to create the big one you want...

Same trick as above.
Place a bmp that has your text in, stretch it to the duration that u want and export it as mpeg2 video from Maestro timeline.

Did you set a duration for it?
You can also do it with scenarist BTW, although that's a bit more work. Import your BMP and set it as a slide show with the desired duration. Right mouse click on the track and choose make vob. After the vob is created you'll have to demultiplex it to get the m2v file

I did it. I set duration to 5 seconds but final mpeg has only 10 frames and cannot be used like dummy angle . It is for my "reopened" Snatch project. All my "duties" are accomplished so I want to make perfect backup of this movie. I believe your guide will be very useful .

Still Snatch? I thought you would have covered that by now
But why removing those extras anyway? Just do a full backup like I did. Lots of fun and nice result. But I'm getting oftopic here. I'm afraid you're right, this will not work. Use the maestro method then.

Maestro method doesn´t work. I can import as many bmps as I want but I can´t export them as mpeg. And final m2v demuxed from created vob is only 10 frames long and Maestro and Scenarist refused to use it as mpeg. They use it as bmp anyway .
Is possible to use avisynth to produce mpeg from bmp source?? |
