@zuggy, SubRip 1.00b BUG report
The subtitle generated of *.idx *.sub is off sync. The first part is subtitle generated with Subresync(which is correct), 2nd part is generated by SubRip 1.00b(off sync). By comparing the subtitles, you will also notice another thing, the italics spacing is messed up. But that is the best I can do, if I reduce Italic Space width one more, it will be un-readable. I verify this with at least 4 different subtitles, so no fluke.
*Edit: Seems the sync error would occur; when there is no subtitle(gray box) at time 0. If there is no gray box (lack of better words) the it will be in sync. 1 00:02:27,113 --> 00:02:29,513 [Helicopter Passes Overhead] 2 00:02:29,616 --> 00:02:33,677 [ Siren Wailing, People Chattering ] 3 00:02:33,786 --> 00:02:35,981 Paulie, how's it look ? Right behind you, Captain. 6 00:02:41,961 --> 00:02:44,521 Keep back till I process the scene, okay ? 7 00:03:59,472 --> 00:04:01,997 [ Creaking] [Man ] Watch out ! 8 00:04:05,445 --> 00:04:08,903 [Machines Beeping Rapidly] 1 00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:02,400 [HelicopterPasses Overhead] 2 00:02:27,113 --> 00:02:31,174 [Siren Wailing, People Chattering] 3 00:02:29,616 --> 00:02:31,811 Paulie, how's it look ? Hi kxy,
it would be great, when you somewhere uploads or send me by mail these subs (rar packed :-). I tried over 20 vobsubs but THAT is never happened. Italic spacing - that's what i'm currently workin' on. |

Okay, after spending a hour trying to find the perfect example. I manage to find you one! This one has the off sync problem and italic.
Zuggy, if you want more troubled subtitles to play it with(off sync or italic), please email me, I will give you a private site. Get it here: test |

Belgabor,
I am assuming that you are talking about the first subtitle: <bad.srt>. That first I made it that way to test out koepi's oggmux. The reason line feed is messed up is because I transfer it over the net-work using ascii instead of binary. Like I said in the other thread, it would be nice if oggmux would have error checking.... But yeah, it will be worth a look. |

hi Zuggy,
How is the development of subrip coming? I found the off sync problem. It occured when some of the subtitltes has the "blank" in the middle. For example: Off sync subtitle: 7 00:02:14,593 --> 00:02:17,226 You better get going, kiddo. We're gonna be late. 8 00:02:17,226 --> 00:02:20,957 Actually, Vanessa, I wondered that too. ljust don't know. Correct one should be 7 00:02:14,593 --> 00:02:17,226 You better get going, kiddo. We're gonna be late. 8 00:02:17,226 --> 00:02:17,359 9 00:02:17,359 --> 00:02:25,934 Actually, Vanessa, I wondered that too. ljust don't know. |

Great job zuggy!
I ran the new version with the subtitle that I uploaded, it works great! It can detect blank and italics works much better. Any comments on the new spacing algo? I noticed you fixed all the little bugs too. I didn't bother to report them, cause they are no big deal and I didn't want scare you all the tedious bug reports. *freeze when selected stream timecodes aren't in IDX file *sub file not found after opening Char Matrix file |

SubRip 1.02
is out, http://zuggy.wz.cz. A bit later then I thought, was caused by filling bugreports/little requests.
To Fasola_Jan: Using either \N or \n as line separator have sense for SSA "smart-wrapping" feature. And VobSub (2.16) manipulates it excellent. Look into SSA specs for more info. |
