DV to AVCHD guide
hi
AVCHD->MPEG4/AVC (highly compressed) codec based format used in new camcorders and hopefully supported by new gen players. DV old tape based codec. I have a number of DV tapes which I would like to convert to AVCHD, oh how I wish the new camera's had a DV input.. so I could convert the format in hardware... and not worry about mencoder and ffmpeg options and my CPU speed etc... I would like to start this thread, for users who want to convert their existing DV media to AVCHD prefereably by hardware means, or by software means... |

That said, a friend showed me his Canon HV11 just bought in Hong Kong (here it sells for 1300 €€€), and I'm drooling ... I'd like to know whether AVCHD footage is intra-only or not. Can you post an avinaptic or mediainfo dump of your AVCHD footage ? cheers audyovydeo |
