IfoEdit v0.86 (Image-creation implemented)
IfoEdit v0.86:
-added: DVD-Disc Image creation implemented. Big thanx goes to CouJo for his source code, and the ImgLib.DLL. This is for all of you, having trouble burning DVDs. By using this new Image-creation function, and of course 'Get VTS Sectors' before, all your DVDs should work perfect in a standalone player. If it doesn't, then you probably did something else wrong. To use this new function you will need this:imglib.dll. Last edited by Derrow; 7th February 2002 at 16:06. |

I forgot one small hint.
If you load an IFO and press 'Get VTS Sectors' and let IfoEdit correct all IFO files, and you imidiatly press after that the new button 'Disc Image', you will recieve a strange Error message like: "Can't find the command interpreter....". Don't worry about that. This happens just because after 'Get VTS Sectors' there's no IFO file selected, even if there are some in the TreeView. Simply select one of the new IFO files in the TreeView, and press 'Disc Image' again, then it will work. |

My doubt is: Not everybody has a M: drive letter assigned, but I know that if we press a second time in the button "Disc Image" it will show a window where we can change the drive letter. Now my doubt: in this drive must exist the original film or the final work from the film we have ripped. This drive must be a dvd/rw-rom drive or a hdd drive. If last one we must have 2 hdd, one with the system and the other with the film. I am asking this beacause I have a 60 GB hdd and haven't yet partioned it, cause if I do I will have to format and this will erase my files/movie and for consequence had to rent the film again (I'll do this after I make this film). Where I want to get ? Here: If I copy the film to a dvd-rw (I know it works in my standalone player / sony ns700v) and make the image from it will this image be recognized in any standalone player or do I really need to make the image from a clean hdd just with the film (video_ts) ???
I am asking this because I don't want to format the hdd yet cause this would erase the film that I have in it. By the way, the format of the image will be recorded with which programs, nero, vobinstant or recordnow ? Sorry ppl, I wanted to post here from the start and for mistake I post a new thread |

First of all NO you don't need to repartition your hard drive. The program assigns a drive letter (virtual drive) to a folder (directory) that you select. Also if you don't want to format your hard drive and you do find a reason to need or want to partition the drive you can use Partition Magic to split the drive up and not need to reformat.

In my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) it just does what a properly working DVD burning application (Nero, VOB) should do: It takes all the files you created with IfoEdit and puts them all together into a DVD compatible disc image file. This file can be recorded with any application then, regardless if the manufacturer implemented DVD creation (I can remember I had to do a lot of "shots" trying to find a version of VOB that worked...) or not. So you should have less problems playing such discs in your stand-alone player.
