Quick question with Bob.
There is only a 'non-avisynth based smart Bob', but Bob AFAIK (can't remember) not listed as a standalone avisynth based bobber, just via qtgmc.

1;Any reason why no standalone avi-synth Bob listed, except from within qtgmc ?

2;I assume qtgmc calls an avisynth bobber?, or does it call the normal one ?

1. QTGMC itself is a bobber, but Hybrid normally automatically adds 'selectEven()' after it, to use it as a bobber simply enabled Bob in the QTGMC Settings
2. 'Yadif - custom (Avisynth)' and 'Yadifmod (Avisynth)' with mode 1 work also as bobbers
-> no reason to add an additional option of named 'Bob (Avisynth)'; even the normal 'Bob'-option is not really neaded it simply calls 'Yadif' with mode 1.

I think I found small issue with latest Hybrid 64bit. When you in x264 settings select hardware profile (for example I set Blu-ray AVCHD) the resize check-box turns to "grayed" state. But when I unset hardware profile, resize check-box stays in the same "grayed" state.

Hallo. Really good program.
But maybe a bug in windows version:
when creating a .avi file, all encoding processes are ok, but the final muxing process is aborted and creation is not completed.
It is a known problem or maybe its a known conflict with other sw?
im using win xp sp3

No, avi output should work fine, at least it does here.
-> might be a bug, but I need more infos to reproduce and fix the problem if it is caused by Hybrid (http://forum.selur.de/topic8-infos-needed-to-fixreproduce-bugs.html)

Only real conflict with other software that was reported to me, from an asian user, was with a misconfigured (no clue in which way) version of "ZoneAlarm Firewall Free" which caused all sorts of problems (not only with Hybrid).

So if you create a debug output and may be write a few lines (step by step guide) and send both to me, I might be able to:
a. tell you what's going wrong
b. fix the problem and send you a fixed version

so i tried to encode a dvd to avi but stopped (aborted the muxing).
so i muxed the temp audio video files made by hybrid with virtualdub (it was with no problem) and just to test the hybrid muxing process i puted the avi file (called Hugo) in C root (thinking maybe too many folder trees) and tryng to create another avi file called okok in passthrough mode.
no success... muxing process aborted again
i used both 09.04.2013 and 16.04.2013 version

i tried too with command line:
the dos windows reports a vtag error (force video tag/fourcc), cannot be applied, you are trying to apply an input option to an outpout file o viveversa. error number 22

Yeah I've had this too, but with .mp4 output,(if re-process same job usually works right away) it happen randomly so I don't really know 'when' it'll happen. I've got the most recent (as of a few days ago)version on there. Assume its a .mp4 box issue

Your sw is more useful than hundreds of payware, and quality encoding is better than many other encodind sw.

Just some little thinking about Hybrid.
- The up and down arrows in all hybrid windows does not work with holding mouse button (no continuos data change on press holding), it works with arrows key on keyboard. A little annoying when needed a great change of data (eg: theorically, change bitrate from 1500 to 750 kbs needs to press mouse button 750 times...).
-in resizing window the resolution divided for mod (1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32) affects only the other dimension. Could be useful an option for both sizes divided for choosen fixed divider (maybe a new scrolling option: eight, width, both).
just small things, but maybe useful.
And now, im asking a miracle.
Gordianknot had a soso useful function , a size and bitrate calculator based on quality factor, not just a bitrate mathematical calculation, GK makes a small test based on 5 -10 % of movie, to find the best quality ratefactor, based on bitrate, size and video complexity.I know could be difficult, but try to insert somethink like that?

normally I simply use the keyboard to enter the target number (I did configure Hybrid way back to autorepeat, seems like I broke it some time ago -> will look at it)

Sorry, but I won't add something like the compression test to Hybrid since I don't believe in it's validity.

One side is normally added manually and the other side is auto adjusted, only the auto adjusted side is influenced by the modulator. 'Auto adjust X to mod Y'.
I'm not totally sure if you want to change the stepping: up/down changes X by Y or if you want Hybrid to only allow values which are mod Y.

The only thing is: i remember many codec works better with resolution multiple of 16 or 32 modulator (less interpolation, so better quality and better compatibility with standalone players), maybe i'm lazy but i have to calculate by my mind (not ever well working) the x or y size eg multiple of 16 (the other size in automatically calculated by hybrid). both dimension changed automatically step by step based on mod could be just an easier way to resize. But if dont, thanks to let my mind alive, obliged to remember how work simple calculation processes .
