I think it should be this one. There's no Windows SDK with "6.0" in the filename, but I think the "6000" part is what you actually have to look for...

EDIT: Oh well - _xxl already added that link to the first post; you might want to give it another read...

I have to agree with Raynor regarding the EVR custom and black levels issue. EVR custom is washed out at the moment, only option for decent colour is Haali now. EVR normal sucks too, because the Video has normal blacks, but the black bars are NOT black but grey. It is annoying to watch video like this.
By the way, EVR normal is fine with Zoom Player for example, black bars are black. The problem is in MPC-HC.

you can also fix these calibrating the video levels via the tools that come with your gfx card for the different renderer, tough i don't know if that works for EVR it does for VMR9/7 with Nvidias Control Panel + calibrating Gama levels and ACE fallof (on the monitor if available) is also a usable thing

i want to add little more info about blocking issue.

in my condition its like watching corrupted streams. randomly blocking start, it continues couple frames long until next scene change (i suppose next idr frame) then blocking gone.

i guess graphic card randomly lost frames itself. maybe driver issue.

As i said in my post, original HDDVD and Bluray streams, work great with powerdvd and all software decoders, also happens with transcodes that are 100% DXVA compatible

It wasa Problme with x264 Builds under 663.

Try to use CoreAVC or ffdshow on this Files and see if you get the same Blocking.

Would be really nice if mpc-hc support x264 with large MV.
This is certainly not the case because i am talking about original HDDVD and Bluray streams

You describe the issue correctly, but it cannot be a driver/hardware issue because powerdvd works fine

then, In mpc-hc.rev482.080327 of svn,

I compiled all library.

but There are some link error only in mplayerc.

how do you think of errors?

bwahn, I think you also need to compile the Baseclasses.

Simplest way is to copy only the .cpp and .h files from the SDK's Baseclasses' directory into the baseclasses directory of the mpc-hc trunk (it should already be existing and have a Visual Studio project inside it but no source code files). Then in Visual Studio build the Baseclasses project in the MPC-HC solution.

Hopefully that will be enough to get it to link.

You MIGHT need to compile a gcc version of the libavcodec library. We'll worry about that when you get there - I didn't bother and built the MPC decoder myself and changed the linkage.

that might be true but the coruption happens in VC1 files too, so it cannot be related to the motion vectors, the corruption is only visable in mpc-hc and nowhere else, so its definately a prblem with mpc=hc's dxva decoder

some example's are

X-men 3 bluray
Corpse Bride bluray

using forceware 174.20 on 8800gtx card, EVR (vista / .net3) selected and dxva acceleration checked on mpcvideocodec is not giving me dxva acceleration

tried using custom evo and i get a black screen with sound that stops after a few secs. i did something stupid and unchecked something on mpc video decoder options and then i couldnt make it show up unless i added it manually from the filters that were posted earlier.

today i reinstalled codecs, made ffdshow not play h264, blocked core avc and cyberlink codecs from mpc, and now mpc video decoder shows again (with low merit next to it, i cant seem to find how to set it to normal again)
but still on a video file with L4.1 encoding i cant seem to get dxva acceleration (using vista 32bit sp1)

8800gtx not support VLD for H264. So you can't use dxva with 8800gtx on mpc-hc.

Using Nvidia 8600gt, cyberlink decoder, vista 32
With new version of NVIDIA drivers: any escape from crushed blacks and whites? with EVR Custom/DXVA.

Was wondering any1 having the same problem as me.

I play a MTV.mp4(Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 512x384 15.00fps Audio: AAC 22050Hz stereo 56Kbps) for awhile and stopped(did not close). Then I play it again, but this time the clip fail to play at all. I m using mpc-hc(r482), vista home 32, GT8600 (169.25), EVR custom, DXVA is enabled. No problem when DXVA is disable. Thanks.

By the way, EVR normal is fine with Zoom Player for example, black bars are black. The problem is in MPC-HC.
With MS (Vista SP1) and nVidia (latest drivers) having
(finally, after more than one year) done their homework,
I think that really all that is missing is an adjustment of
MPCHC's EVR renderers (above all EVR-custom, as this
is the most useful) in order to get correct black levels (0-255)
for PC screens.

Judging from reports, even Windows Media Player (yuck!) has correct
black levels now (I believe it is using EVR with Vista)

Again, this dreaded issue has been going on for way too long,
so the opportunity should be seized to finally get rid of it,
hopefully for good.

Is the internal h264 DXVA filter support h264 sar(Sample Aspect Ratio)?

I tested some h264 videos, all files are DXVA compatible encoded.
h264 with SAR = DXVA is working.
h264 without SAR = DXVA is not working.

SAR is supported but not all aspect ratios are DXVA compatible, seems like you are using an incompatible SAR

Is this a known bug and in that case is there a fix?

No-one has seen this problem? I use the internal filters.
