I think it's still planned: drop internal filters for ffdshow.
And I really think it's a good idea. MPC-HC = interface; ffdshow = decoder.

ffdshow is going to support DXVA soon to content pessimistics.

Can someone please let me know if PGS/SUP (as included in Blu-ray format) subtitle support is planned?

Agreed.
What is brilliant with MPC-HC is that it's an all-in-one solution, nothing else to install and it works straight out of the box on any NT based Windows version.

Please don't change that.

couldn't this http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?...ostcount=11478 be solved with adding a pin out to the .mov parser so that ffdshow audio decoder realizes it ?

There already is an output pin, namely the one in your error that fails to connect

While Haali converts the TWOS audio to PCM by itself, the MP4/MOV splitter from MPC plays dumb and treats the format like any other one. That means you need a decoder for TWOS. ffdshow can decode that when you enable support for uncompressed audio. However, it is unfortunately a bit buggy, so expect issues.

Ideally MPC's splitter should also convert this uncompressed variant to plain PCM. Submit a feature request. Then maybe Casimir666 can fix it.

For the new fullscreen autochange feature, it'd be useful to differentiate between 23.976 and 24.000 hz. Many displays support both refresh rates (even more if you count Powerstrip users), and, while rare, there are sources out there at a hard 24.000 fps.

Yeah it doesn't work that way playback isn't possible and if sound plays you only hear some strange noises
guess for now i have to still switch between parser and hope for a feature add by casimir666 thx

little surprising though that Mplayer and VLC both play it back fine

so haalis parser has problems with: ima4
and gabest with : sowt

Have the devs thought about changing the current "click me" hand cursor to the standard Windows one when it's over the active video window?

In order to remove the tearing I had to uncheck "disable desktop composition". I have no idea what this does but I have no more tearing.

Aero = "desktop composition"

bluray .sup subtitles can already be rendered. Make sure you're using the internal MPEG TS splitter.

It's not 100% though, but will work for 98% of movies. Sometimes there's dual subs onscreen and only one will be rendered. I saw that limitation first in the Freedom blurays.

24P playback problem.
After I've upgraded MPC-HC to the new version with Sync renderer and auto refresh rate change (amazing work!!), I get serious judder/laggy 24P playback when I choose EVR CP or MadVR as renderer. Has anyone similar problem?

For some formats (MPEG2, H.264) in Windows 7 you can use Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder as an external filter. You still have to add it to MPC-HC, but you don't have to install it because it is included in Win7.

In my set I don't have the split image with this decoder.

While I was trying to tune the dvb-t channels I found a small bug. All the channels found appears as number 0 in the generated table and are subsequently saved in the ini file as number 0, so it is not possible to switch channels without changing manually the ini file.

I prepared a simple patch for TunerScanDlg.cpp that addresses this problem. I compiled and verified yesterday.

Could someone add this 3 lines? (I also could provide the patch file or the fixed cpp file if you prefer)
Thanks

Since some weeks I see this picture on some files.
This seems to be an error on the videodecoder output. This happens not on all files. This file is an 1920x1080 MKV that is not DXVA-compliant and is runing on a Radeon video card. I have three computers and the problem is the same on all of them.

@ar-jar: I direct this report at you as I think that rev 1557 is the cause of this regression. Basically when I use rev1557 32bit available on xvidvideo.ru, when the player loses its direct3d surface and reinitialize, it forgets to do that for the subtitle renderer so I will be unable to see subtitle after a UAC prompt unless I disable then enable the internal sub renderer. I use EVR Sync.

If you need more information, please say so.

A small and hopefully trivial request: would it be possible to add a forced 16:9/4:3 switch in the commandline options?

Aero enabled = view-> renderer settings-> reset to default (more specifically alt vsync not enabled, but vsync within mpc-hc enabled)

aero disabled = view-> renderer settings-> reset to optimal (more specifically vsync and alt vsync enabled)

please replace liba52 and libdca with libavcodec. libavcodec always update and better them both. and add disable jitter correction like ffdshow. thank you.
