Thanks buzzqw.
Did a small encode and change fps to 29.97 not working. Fps were still at 23.976.
In the video resize slider if I pick a resolution of 352 with adding cropping of 16,72,16,72, I get a final resolution of 352x244. Is there a way to get a resolution 352 x480?

Thanks
David

Hi buzzqw!
I just love the way this little program develops :-) Is there a chance that you will include lame encoding to 44.1kHz? I am backing up a very old tv show that has an annoying very high pitched sound in almost all episodes. When i encode to Lame in 44.1Khz using AutoMKV, the annoying sound is gone. It would also be great if i could choose if i want to normalize the audio or not. Just some suggestions, keep up the great work!

Update to AutoMen 3.0

added possibility to enable/disable audio normalization
added possibility to change ssrc. Attention ! lame bitrate is tied to particular sample rate value

@Dkruskie

what is the original ar ?... mencoder will automatically scale to correct aspect ratio
you will need manual set of ar.. must wait another update

about fps... check in mpeg2.bat is -ofps 30000/1001 is present.. also try with 3.0 version

@Dkruskie

624/352=1.772

352/244=1.444 (yea.. the crop values...)

BUT

352/480=0.733

so it is a problem of ar (and not only)
your image will be "deformed" passing from 624/352 to 352/480

i can check in mencoder how to force ar.. but in this case .. are you sure of what doing ?

LanczosResize(320,336,0,0,624,352)
AddBorders(16,72,16,72)
to have 352x480 to make 1/2 dvd res

@Dkruskie

try this build

http://www.64k.it/andres/data/automen/AutoMen30a.exe

in advanced settings is possible to specifu the height.

Not setting it will bring an automatic resize by mencoder

Thanks buzzqw.
After doing multiple tests, I concluded its better to let mencoder do the resizing when setting the width and cropping and change fps to 29.97 I can still set dvdlab pro to accept non dvd sizes so no worries here

Hi buzz,

In testing mencoders x264 against pure x264, i notice that generally its a lot darker when using mencoder.

Is that mencoder thing or is it addressable through your settings?

I really like automen, but there is one thing I wished it would do and that is to give me a status bar to let me know what it is really going to do something like.

Input - 1:36; Video - XviD - Single Pass Q = 3; Audio - mp3 - cbr 128kbs

I find myself always wondering what it really is going to do when I say "Start"

Thanks for the great program.

As long as you are working on it I also noticed that my last video was:

Video: XVID 640x258 29.97fps [Video 0]
Audio: MPEG Audio Layer 3 48000Hz stereo 128Kbps [Audio 1]

Any chance you could do IVTC and get the framerate to 24?

I think i have found a bug in crop module(preview); i have tested two mpeg files and result is the same: every value set in the "crop box" will ignored in preview box.

P.S.
DVD Structure(for encode) is supported by AutoMen?

buzzqw: Since I overlooked something so obvious yesterday I want to check to see if I was missing something else.

When I have a group of Linked Vob files I have been using VobMerge to make one large vob file out of it before I drop it on your application. Is there another (better) way?

Thanks,
