How can I split an ogg ?

I have an ogg of 80 minutes but I want to cut it down to 75 minutes cause I don't need the last part.
How can I do this whitout reconverting the ogg in wav, cut and recompress ?
Thanks

There is a ogg-plugin for Cool Edit 2000, so editing the ogg file in Cool Edit is one solution.

@metrom

Is this a free plug-in by chance? Would you have a link to the site?

Thx

AND are you sure this method does not implies a decompression-recompression as it seems likely ?

Ogg file splitting

My Ogg file splitting utility is nearly finished. I will publish it probably in the next three days. Anyway I will give you a short anouncement.

Best regards,
Tobias

It's finished

I've published the Ogg Cut tool at http://tobias.everwicked.com. Please note that you have to update OggDS first.

Best regards,
Tobias

is it possible that there will be a future version of this that will let you input specific times to cut at? specific to the millisecond.

When splitting an ogg that contains chapter information, the chapter information is kept in both files, rendering it useless...

After a split you'd expect the first chapters to be kept in the first file, and the ones that don't fit in the first to be time-adjusted and placed in the second file.

Don't know how much of a hassle this would be to implement though

to split ogg vorbis you can use musiCutter (it acts as vcut.exe frontend as of v0.7). There is only 0.7alpha1 available, but seems to be stable enough.

OggCutter

Well, the OggCutter is a quite simple tool which was mainly designed to illustrate how to use the filters and DirectShow (Therefore it is published with the source code and everyone is invited to change or adapt it). Anyway I will fix the chapter information next week.

Best regards,
Tobias
