GUIDE : *.DTS to *.WAV (DTS/WAV)

Finally I WIN !!!

I Convert my dts file (vts_01_1.dts) into a 6ch dts/wav file (vts_01_1.wav); then i write it as Audio-Cd, put in my dvd-player & i hear a 5.1 DTS SOUND !!!

Here the step by step guide 4 all people that as me want to do it

BEFORE ALL DOWNLOAD the follow softwares/codecs

1) WinDVD Platinum v5.1 5.26
2) dtsac3source.ax (dtsac3source_20030603.zip) (From http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/)
3) BeSweet v1.4 (Besweet.exe) (From http://dspguru.doom9.net/)
4) BeSweet GUI v0.6 (From http://dspguru.doom9.net/)
5) BeSweet v1.5b23 (BeSweet.dll) (From http://dspguru.doom9.net/)
6) azidts 0.1 (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Audio/azidts.zip)
7) Minnetonka SurCode CD Pro DTS
8) SSRC (From http://www.afterdawn.com/software/au...tools/ssrc.cfm)

THEN :

1) Install WinDVD
2) Copy dtsac3source.ax into c:\windows\system32 dir
3) RUN regsvr32 dtsac3source.ax
4) Extract BeSweet 1.4 & copy inside the dir the BeSweet GUI, the BeSweet DLL, the azidts EXE, the ssrc.exe
5) Install SurCode CD Pro DTS

NOW the Convertion :

1) Open BeSweet GUI
2) Load as INPUT the *.dts file
3) Select as OUTPUT "Six waves"
4) Click on "Downconvert Sample Rate"
4) Click on AC3/OGG/DTS & select the dir of azidts.exe & SurCode CD
5) Click on BeSweet
6) Click on "DTS to WAV"
7)In the upcoming IVIAudio.ax dialogue (see above) select "6 speakers mode (5.1 channel)" (not SPDIF!)

When you Press OK a Dos window as this it appears :

NOW you've 6 mono wav files at 44Khz

8) Open SurCode CD Pro DTS
9) Load the 6 mono wav e select the Destination THEN press "ENCODE"

NOW you've a Dts Wav file

10) BURN the file as Audio-CD and you WIN ^_^

I hope that this post is a good things...

It's not meant as criticism, only to show you this was already known for more than a year. For me there is no need to delete the message !
The more people who can benefit from the method the better !

There is one clear advantage on what you describe her : in my guide it only works with DVD platinum 4.5. You managed to use a newer version !!

kind regards,

EoH

I Need Heip

I have tried this with a trial version of WinDvd and I am using BesweetGui. When I start the conversion process I just get a flash of a screen that says something about Intervideo but it is not displayed long enough to read it. The process then proceeds but the ouput file is only silence. I don't have the option of choosing 6 channel output. Does the trial version of WinDvd not work with this procedure? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Still the same result

Thanks X, but I am still getting the Intervideo screen appearring for an instant and vanishing as the black Dos display begins. I have 2 computers and this result is the same on both. The page that flashes momentarily appears to be the correct one, but I have no chance to choose anything before it disappears. The output files are silent or sometimes says "file damaged".

Just another thought. Could my problem have anything to do with Windows XP? Is anybody using XP along with BesweetGui and having success?

No problem with using XP here.
And the method doesn't work with the demo of WinDVD.
You need the full registered version !!!!

Does that registered version require the audio booster pack? What about the alternate audio codec from The X? Anybody use this with XP? Has anybody else experienced the problem I'm having?

I always use PowerDVd on my PC.
When I had to re-install WinDVD (as mentioned my guide works with 4.5 Platinum only) I saw there are 2 versions of 4.5 . One of them is for XP only !! I don't know if that's still the case with newer versions.......
You don't need the booster pack !

If this method described here does not work, try my guide.
With WinDVD Platinum 4.5 XP (!) it definitely works !

Does your fully registered version include the audio booster pack? I am hesitant to buy WinDvd 5 if that is not the cause of my problem. On my 2 computers I have XP home on one and XP Pro SP1 on the other and they both have the same problem. The WinDvd is probably the cause, but I would feel much more confident if someone else experienced the same effects. When I create an mp3 file DTS-> MP3, the resulting file "plays" but is silence. If I create 6 waves, the files produce the message "file damaged" when I try to play with Winamp. If I create an AC3 file, the file shows a size of 0kb. Thanks for responding to my situation.

I have installed a registered version of Windvd 5 and I am still getting the "flash and go" of the Intervideo screen. However the process is now outputting the 6 mono waves from a dts file. I used a music dvd that had ac3 and dts surround to compare the 6 waves outputted. With the dts input, the 6 waves output are labelled wrong as compared to the ac3 input. When I get home from work today, I will post the corrected labels.

6 wave dts output labels.

When using azidts to convert dts to 6 waves the waves are mislabeled. Here are the labels as output -> and what they should be. SL->LFE; FR->C; FL->FL; C->FR; LFE->SR; SR->SL. I hope this helps.
