Could you detail what you mean by "can't play it"? Does the video plays but drops a lot of frames? Or you have a black screen or an error?
Please post a screenshot of the madVR OSD (Ctrl+J) during playback.
There is video decode engine usage on your right screenshot too so hardware decode must be used with madVR too.

Did Nvidia fix the HDR with player UI issue? I want to update to the latest drivers to play some games but I don't want to ruin MadVR HDR.

How could they have fixed it already when the driver that broke it came out just last week? It will probably take months. Not like they prioritize HTPC issues...

Also, it's not like this breaks madVR or playback in any way. Simply avoid triggering the UI while you're watching.

Yes! I would like to see speed improvements and I know madshi said this was possible. I'd like smooth motion to more resemble the original video too (sharpness/detail).

Where can we download this beta build?

Some people are taking the comments he made about not being sure yet what the future holds as doom and gloom and madvr is closing down. That has NOT been determined! There's a few factors to consider. One, madshi wants to continue madvr on the PC for one very good reason....the amount of testing that people put into it. There's a business case to be made there that allowing PC users to test out new functionality (even if it's limited compared to what ends up in the Envy) makes sense. Do you really want your customers that are paying 10 grand on a box to be your beta testers for new features? Now it may come down to a decision that they have to charge a fee for madvr going forward. But again, nothing has been decided and madshi has said that when the time is right (I.E. AFTER the public launch of Envy) then he and his business partners will discuss it.

TLDR: NO ONE, not even madshi, knows what the future holds for the free version of madvr. Anyone claiming otherwise is fear mongering.
look, I just asked what happens, I don't want to feed anything, stay calm. Since I haven't connected for a long time, reading the last comments I asked what happens, thats all!

same here!

I don't know what happened and what will happen.
The software owner will decide, and any choice must be respected.
Will it be paid? If you want to buy it ok, don't you want to pay? you can use another software. This has happened since the dawn of time!

I think, given that this software has not been developing at all for almost two years now.
And the author of the program spoke quite definitely about of the future free version.
There are fewer and fewer who do not believe that MadVR is DeadVR

In my opinion:

1) Of course, the Madshi business plan, which hopes to sell for $10K that costs $ 0, is complete nonsense.
Moreover, even after two years, his product is still not ready.
And when it is ready, the world will have time to change to such an extent that it will not be ready to buy such solutions

2) The death of MadVR - in my opinion, this is a very nice event

3) Because, firstly, frankly, closed software is arbitrarily wonderful,
behind which there is only one person - it is always very bad.
Relatively speaking.
Imagine the only author of the program falls under the tram.
This also completely ends the life of its software.
Is this a good, reliable at all?

Secondly, technologically MadVR - lagged behind real modern hardware capabilities for a long time.
It has not been developing at all for two years now, in that area where even one month is a whole revolution!

4) I hope the current situation with MadVR and the lessons we learned from this whole story,
will be a very serious incentive for the development of alternative projects.
It's time to understand, realize and accept: MadVR - is no more.
It`s died.
There were wonderful for 10 years, everyone is very grateful to the author.
But this times are over.

5) Of course, it strikes me that the whole world, the whole huge planet Earth, with a population of 8 billion people.
for 10 years, there was only one crazy programmer who made such a solution.
Of course, 90% of it consisted of another people`s algorithms made under opensource.
He was basically impossible to sell it

6) Now that the industry, in direct terms, bought the creator of MadVR and blocked his work.
It's time to start a serious project that can significantly surpass the previous solution in terms of quality and capabilities.
We can do something a lot. Much better.
It is important not to repeat the fatal errors of the MadVR project initially

Fundamental, fatal, errors of "MadVR Project" are:

- Completely closed code
- One and only developer
- Any development of the project always depended on the goodwill of one person

Now the whole huge community is reaping the fruits of these, originally laid down in the project of hidden pits.

Isn't it amazing that it is only people who have never spoken or helped or contributed to a project are always the ones that come in later and make demands and claims and start "the sky is falling" talk?

I mean 5 posts and you are now an authority on madVR and it's development?

Please...

My response wasn't directed at you. It was directed at all the people who think their "speculative opinion" is fact and present it as such. I've no issue with what you asked at all.

Madshi has obviously done a tremendous amount of work over the last year or two. However, we on this forum are no longer his testers. The new ones are on the AVSForum, and generally have expensive projector-based home theater systems. They test madshi's amazing HDR tone mapping work, among other new features.

The people here who have such systems have moved to the other forum. We feel abandoned because we have no new features to test.

However madVR development goes, we still have a stable 0.92.17 release that does magical things. For free.

If you knew Madshi well, then you will knew that it is not that kind of people at all. If his project had died, he would have said that so frankly and clearly
