MeediOS - madVR Video Player

For those familiar with MeediOS, it has long suffered for a good video player. Often requiring users to launch an external player. Now there is a native video player based on directshow codecs using madVR, LAV, ffdshow (optional), xy-VSFilter, XySubFilter, and Reclock (optional). If you're looking for an alternative to XBMC, JRiver, etc, you might give this a try. More features to come. To be clear, this is an internal player and requires MeediOS to be installed.

Any feedback is welcome.

Ofcourse, the strength of the player is the hard work of the developers of madVR, LAV, ffdshow, xy-VSFilter, XySubFilter, and Reclock.

Sure it's possible. It is not currently setup to intentionally add other filters but it won't prevent other filters from loading if the graph needs it. I can look into adding this as an option.

Hi, can you list all the features of the player? Can the player be installed without meedios?

The player is a MeediOS plugin and cannot be run without MeediOS.

Features:
Should play any media that LAV and madVR can handle.
Reclock is supported
DVD playback with menus supported
BluRay playback supported - no menus
BluRay playlist selection with main title selection
Chapter selection
Jump to a specific time
Audio track selection
Subtitle track selection
Zoom in, Zoom out
Normal transport functions (play, pause, rrw, few)

Movie information with poster and audio video data displayed
Graphics are shown through the madVR api in both full screen exclusive mode and windowed mode

I think thats most of it...

Yes - It uses LAV and madVR. So whatever your settings are for these filters that is what is used. The player can install and update all filters, but you are responsible for setting them as you like.

The GUI looks nice to me. One tiny little request: Could you fix the case? It's "madVR" instead of "Madvr". Thanks...

Oops. Corrected now. I'll also make sure it's correct on the MeediOS website and within the player.

KeyserSoze17 LAV Splitter(Filter) isnt able to split mkv-ordered-chapter-mkvs.

you should use AV Splitter instead.

Thanks for the heads up. While the player always adds LAV audio and video decoders it does not force the LAV splitter into the graph. I would think the splitter would load based on your filter priority settings. Regardless, I will add an option to the player to use either splitter.

The thing that puts me off meedios the most is the lack of mouse support

MeediOS certainly supports the use of a mouse. I just haven't coded it into the player with the madVR API. It's on the to do list.

When mouse support is added I'd like to give Meedios a go, but no integrated tuner will put me off. Despite trying all the solutions out there I just can't seem to beat WMC and Media Browser for reliable functionality and for me, even that lacks free customisable music playback.

I temporarily pulled the code down to clean it up, fix some bugs, add some features and better integrate it into MeediOS WPF gui. Feel free to pm me if you have any general questions on the code and I'll be happy to help.
