SelectRangeEvery

I switched from Avisynth and need an equivalent to

SelectRangeEvery(840,42)

I looked at SelectEvery(clip=clip, cycle=2, offsets=0) but not sure how to achieve it. Also, like Avisynth, I do not want the framerate to change. I want to keep the original framerate. SelectEvery changes it.

Code:
clip = core.std.SelectEvery(clip, cycle=840, offsets=list(range(42))).std.AssumeFPS(src=clip)
