Picture at the beginning of the movie?

When I Convert avi (xvid or divx) to avi with Auto GK 2.27 (remove Q-PEL and GMC, my dvd player doesn't support it) then AutoGK takes the picture from the movie wherever it wishes and puts it beginning of the movie. Its means before the movie starts I see the picture during couple of seconds and after that the movie starts. What I have for not seeing the picture there?

Me too!

I've seen the same thing in two XviD avi's I transcoded to smaller file sizes also XviD. I did this because apparently my Philips DVP-642 doesn't allow FFWD/RWD/JumpTo when a file's bitrate is above ~950kbs on a CD-R.

Anyone have suggestions for other easy methods to transcode?

TIA!!!

Hi!

If you're saying that, for whatever reason, your XviD-comprssed .AVI contains some frames at the beginning that you don't want, simply do the following:

Cutting with VirtualDub (or any of its variants)

1)Load your original (DivX-compressed or otherwise) .AVI into VirtualDub
2) Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"
3) Move slider to the starting point of the scene you wish to delete
4) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Go to next keyframe"
5) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Set Selection Start"
6) Move slider to the ending point of the scene you wish to delete
7) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Go to next keyframe"
8) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Set Selection End'
9) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Delete frames"
10) Save with a new filename
