Hi, Olivier
Sorry for WMEA did not work for you. I posted my test note about evo files encoding on WMEA's blog after replyed your mail. I wrote a little test note(I'm not sure which word it better) and linked a longer WMVHD clip (longer than the mail that replayed to you) in that post. I have no Vista to do the test for you, so, I think it might help...

Hi Moz,
You posted 2 methods on the WMEA blog: First is more complex, WinDVD8, EVODemux, GraphEdit, Avisynth2.57 and WMEA is needed. 1. Demux EVO to mpv & mpa 2. Using GraphEdit make two filter graphs, write 2 Avisynth script. 3. Make sure WMP can play your 2 avs files, then load separate video & audio avs to WMEA, start encoding job. Second is easier, WinDVD8, EVODemux, Elecard MPEG-2 Decode Pack 3.0, AC3filter1.11 and WMEA is needed. 1. Demux EVO to mpv & mpa 2. Make sure your mpv & mpa can be played by WMP correctly, then load mpv & mpa to WMEA, start encoding job. However, neither of them work at present! ... at least, not under Vista! In the first case, there is an issue with WMEA accepting seperate video and audio AVS and WMEA ends up "Not Responding". In the second case, (where I don't see why you would need WinDVD8) only the audio is converted. The video is totally neglected! I also tried playing back a VC-1 file in WMP 11 after having installed the Elecard MPEG-2 Video Decoder, but it doesn't play! I even tried the Elecard AVC plug-in for WMP, but that didn't work either! I've also been wondering, do all HD-DVD EVO files contain all 3 following formats or just ONE of the 3: MPEG-2 HD, VC-1, and H.264/AVC ? |

I know your EVO is VC1/DTS, that test note is a demo for EVO encoding, not a guide, so, I think it might help, but... It seems totally useless for you. Throw it away...
I'd like to do some tests if you give me a link that can download your EVO clip

Moz, The clip is >8GB total! I have extracted the first few minutes into a clip of 250MB. Please find here:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/thsg41 P.S. I recommend you start downloading just before going out for lunch or something! |

By the way, my typical parameters for a 5.1 sound CQ encode are:
-v_bframedist 1 -v_bdeltaqp 1 -v_mslevel 1 -v_codec wvc1 -v_keydist 3 -v_mode 2 -v_quality 96 -v_mmatch 0 -v_msrange 0 -v_performance 20 -v_loopfilter 1 -a_codec wmapro -a_setting 384_48_6_24 |

@DarkNite: Thank you for your answer. I guess VC-1 is the prefered format.
@jubilex: Thanks for your feedback. I'll make some tests with your parameters. @tchaikovsky: Here is the link. I don't think it's any faster than sendspace because it took me another 2 hours to upload! part0001.evo |

@jubilex: A big thank you: your parameters produced awesome results! I just had to change the audio settings to: -a_setting 192_44_2_24 because I got an error!
Maybe I didn't have to change the bit rate, but I think InterVideo Audio Decoder only produces 2 channels output? |

5.7 is the version of Windows Script Host. Buzzqw has WMF SDK 9.5 (WMP10) installed, while you are probably running Vista. That's where the codec difference comes from. Wmcmd.vbs is version-agnostic as far as WMA Standard and Pro are concerned. It'll use whatever is on the system. |

I'm not endorsing it, but a few people have figured out ways to install WMP11 on W2K3:
http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.ph...st&p=588446611 The post I linked sounds the easiest and without unnecessary .INF editing and whatnot. I haven't tested it myself... So if you decide to try it, proceed cautiously. |

Good morning Zambelli!
I've got people getting errors with wmcmd.vbs and I don't understand the meaning of the errors they are getting! Would you be able to help. The post is here. Thank you. You're the expert! |

1. Install Service Pack 2 for Server 2003. If that's not an option, change the registry value HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows\CSDVersion from 100 to 200, then follow the remaining instructions, and after install change back to 100. 2. Copy wmfdist11.exe to a local drive. You can extract it from a WMP installer (wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe) with WinZip/WinRAR, get it from the full WM Format 11 SDK, or just search the Internet for a download location. 3. Right click on wmfdist11.exe, pull up its properties. Under the “Compatibility” tab, select “Run this program in compatibility mode for” and set it to “Windows XP”. 4. Run wmfdist11.exe. WM Format 11 runtime installs. 5. Change "CSDVersion" back to 100 if you changed it in the first step. That's all. If you want WMP too, follow the same steps for wmp11.exe, though it's not necessary to install the player if you just want the codecs. |

OK guys, for a noob here. :-)
I got an avi file encoded from a vc-1 using VirtualDub and want to mux it (combine it) with a wma audio from the same movie. I thought it was a matter of loading both in this app but somehow I started to get two separte files istead of a combined one. Any help appreciated. :-) |
