subtitle probs

subtitle prob!
I ripped the movie "hey dude, where is my car" (code 2) to my harddrive (the whole disc). then I used IFO edit 0.86 to remove the menus and the other stuff. at the end I just had the main move.
so far so good. I stripped the audio and the subtitles. even that worked fine. then I corrected the IFO files, burned the whole thing with NERO and my DVR-A03. the movie works great on my Pioneer 535 stand-alone player, I can change the audio-language and the subtitles.

BUT: it doesn't matter what subtitle I choose. the player always shows the english one! turn them of works. on my computer I can change the subtitle (I use powerDVD XP).

what is wrong??? I believe it's the .ifo file... hmm.

any ideas?

@derrow: the film does NOT take place on a DVD-R! I tried!!!
