I like the results of your investigations. At least it gives us some clues about where the problems can come from. At present, Paddington and myself don't have time to code but I am sure I will find some in september. Maybe Paddington will also. And at that time we will surely have a look and fix this bug. So be prepared to help us testing the fixed version, in a few months. We will need testers'help. About the missing character, I could reproduce it. When we have some time, we'll have a look at it. Hi all
I've some problem with converting srt to vobsub by SC. - When I save as the srt to vobsub with option video format PAL (from Menu Format),my PC play movies perfectly. But When i play movies (with that idx/sub) on my divx standard alone player, the player cannot play the movies and crash (I have to turn the power off). - However, when I save as the srt to vobsub with option video format NTSC, the divx player play movie with sub perfectly , but the subtitle is displayed out-of-sync with the movie when i play movies on PC Can someone help me to make the sub work perfectly on both PC and divx player? Thanks so much. P/S : My divx player have local brand ^^.Sorry my bad English |

Hi,
-I don't know why you have a problem with your PAL subtitle. Did you try to open it with subresynch. If it works, it must be a problem with your SAP. -For the NTSC timings bug, have a look at this post. Cheers Manusse |

I get this when AA = OFF i <k> the most bottom line </k> not i don't want AA=ON, is that i find it very ugly while watching AA=ON on my TV+DVD player or monitor+software player and one of the reason i sugested, having able to do different color per sup pic like commercial dvd not using <K> is that <K> cannot apply fade.... using...... dvdsubedit 1) it is more flexible like converting it to vobsub will definetaly get the color, but <k> i'm not very sure.... if vobsub gonna takes it into account... I installed Subtitle Workshop on a pretty new system with Windows XP x64. And although the movies do play fine in ZoomPlayer most of them won't start inside Subtitle Workshop - the video preview window remains black and no audio is playing as well.
Any idea what could be the problem and how to get rid of it? Thanks you very much! |

About the posibility of transforming hd sup files in idx, very nice feature that doesn't seem to work as it should though. The subs saved are very hard to ocr because somewhere in the downsizing process or color reducing the fonts become jagged (as if coroded by some process ), which makes them different from one another. Tried changing transparency, and colors but can't get any good results.
Here's the sup file I'm trying: http://d01.megashares.com/?d01=62a247f Also, should it read sup files from bluray (demuxed with xport)? (doesn't seem to work here..)

Hi Daodan,
I am (unfortunately) back from vacations. The HD-SUP import function works only with HD-SUP files, not with BD-SUP (blu-ray) yet. This is on my plans for the future but there are many bugs to be solved first, I think. When SC opens an HD-SUP, the internal process followed is the following: 1°) Convert the sup from 1920x1080 to SD definition (at present 720 x 576 but in next version 720 x 480 will also be available). The color is not changed 2°) Determine the brightest and the darkest colors of the subtitle. 3°) Replace each color by one of darkest/brightest/(0.5*(brightest+darkest) That's the process applied. I think part of the problem you see could be avoided by using an anti-aliasing filter before reducing the image size. Maybe I will add some settings in future versions to do this. Cheers Manusse |

As the message says, it's presently unsupported by the wizard. However you can do it by hand. See here for explanations:
http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.p...orum_id=410032 If you don't need to keep the menus it's not important as VobBlanker is used only for menu restoration. Cheers Manusse Last edited by manusse; 12th August 2007 at 21:46. Reason: Precision |

hi,
a couple of questions: 1) is it possible to change and remember the default fonts? every time I start the program, it loads the last srt file, but forgets about the fonts and shows Arial Narrow/Bold/22pt. Since I never use that one, I have to recall which one I did use last, and change it accordingly. Same thing about the other formatting settings. 2) If my system setting for "Language for non-Unicode programs" (Control Panel->Regional and Language Options) is e.g. Russian, then the only font script I can use is Cyrillic, regardless of the "Character Encoding" setting. If I want to create subtitles in "Western" or any other script, I need to change my regional option, which requires Windows restart. Of course, this means that I cannot use Cyrillic or any other script until the next restart, which is very annoying. thanks! |

Hi kto,
About point 1) Did you use the last version (2.2)? The profile should work better now and they will normally fix the font problem you mention. The last used profile will be remembered. However, there is no link between the srt file and the profile but if you always use the same fonts it will be ok. Choose Format->Change Font and choose the font you want to use. When you are satisfied, choose Profiles -> Save Current Profile. Then choose a name and save it. Then (and I need to fix this remaining small bug, I thought I had !!!!!) choose Profiles -> Apply Profile -> the name of your newly created profile. And that's it. Now it will be automatically selected each time you will restart SubtitleCreator. Another way of remembering the font is to use the font button (F) at the bottom of SC and choose a font for your subtitles. This one will be embedded in the srt file but it's only valid for one line (Note that this is not a "standart" srt tag, but is specific to SC). Also it seems this button disappeared from the English interface!!! But it's still there in the French interface... One more bug to fix in a next release. About point 2), I'll let Paddington answer you. Cheers Manusse |

manusse,
thanks for the tip. I've also noticed that "position subtitles: width" setting is not saved in the profile automatically, one has to update it in the profile manager. btw, is there a list of supported srt tags somewhere? (like <b> <i> <f> <s M /> etc.) regarding 2), it would be ideal if the program supported Unicode, of course. but at least some kind of fix to the problem mentioned above would be great. cheers |
