layer masks ?

Hi,

I'm a bit frighten about restoring this one (example pic) :

It is a low quality VHS footage, with a nasty echo due to the bad receiving conditions.

I suppose i should overlay a mask :

And first build a mask, applying some vertical motion blur to it, but how to fine tune the strength of the effect ?

Mask(clip clip, mask_clip clip)

No setting here to adjust the transparency ...

The overlay function works pretty well :

This was easier than expected, remains now to use the MCTemporalDenoise to improve quality.

Which is only the biggest script ever seen for avisynth
