Dual Display question Nvidia or Matrox

I have recently purchased a MSI G4 MX440 64MB card with dual display support. After installing.. PowerDVD XP failed in all diagnostic test. Even Ifoedit could not open up any ifo file and play it, pops up an error.

When I reinstall back my Matrox G400, it worked fine. My question is does Nvidia cards sucks? Or is it Power XP that does not work in dual monitor mode?

Should I just go ahead and purchase a Matrox G450 instead?

Help please.
Thanks!
T

if matrox works good for you, then by all means use what works... especially if you don't care for insane 3D performance. You'll have better 2D and tvout quality with matrox.

nvidia are garbage for tv out/dual dispay
ATI are the masters in this game

AIW radeon gives top results
with powered by ATI a close second

I have had problems running ATI with 3D software like 3DS Max & Maya. And it was the Radeon 8500. This was about 2 months ago. They might have updated the drivers by now Any ATI is good?

I have never had a Matrox card. But I have had both Nvidia and ATI and a good number of each. Nvidia makes good 3d accelerator cards dont get me wrong. But for 3d and TV out/in ATI has em beat hands down. I recently upgraded from a Radeon 64Mb DDR VIVO(I think its closest relative is the 7200) to a Radeon 8500 with 128Mb of RAM. I am just as happy as ever. The 3d is great and so is the TV out.

I have to disagree with you on that
my powered by ati card, has less volts out (not 1v for peak white)
than my real ATI card..........

so the picture is dimmer (even on full brightness)
I would have to put a video amp in to get a really
good picture.
