Now this will really be nice, Thanks for this.
I also wanted to comment that I have had no issues at all what so ever with this program so far(knocks on wood), and I have done movie only back ups, full back ups, and have done BD5's, ALL turned out fantastic!

Cool! Thank you!

So, I am guessing movie-only backup will not preserve menus, right?

What about a Full backup with custom size like 50GB - would this re-encode video?

Also, last night I tried the "other movie only output" and chose "mkv container, 1920x1080,AC3 Audio" but it errored out without much detail:

Any idea what happened? Also, would it be possible continue the process without re-doing it from scratch?

Thanks for any help and suggestions!!

Will there also be an option to remove secondary video when secondary audio is dts express? or is there a possible way to reencode dts express (because it cannot be demuxed) and put it back? i heard eac3to can do that

FYI: I did a Mary and Max Movie only encode that completed normally but the audio was around 10 seconds fast. I remuxed it with another program and finally got it back in sync. It seems when the movie starts a clip plays with a film projector noise playing but for some reason BD_Rebuilder skips this audio and plays the audio for the rest of the film causing it to go out of sync. This has happened only once in a while for movie only encodes and usually it has a very small .m2ts that I can skip but this time it didn't work with it missing. Also did a Wyatt Earp backup that was extremely long (3:10 minutes), this movie had a 640K Dolby Digital 5.1 audio track that I kept and when it finished it came out at 224K instead of the usual 640k. I did not configure it any differently than the encodes I completed earlier that used 640k as the final output. I was just wondering if BD_Rebuilder changed it to save space for the video or if it's a bug?

I have had my first problem with BD-RB in quite some time.
The Blu-ray, an older release, is Stargate Extended Cut.
The full backup to BD5 completes successfully, but on play back on my Sony S360 and PowerDVD none of the button highlights work, so there is no way to select/change menu buttons.
The Blu-ray starts with a brief Lions Gate advert that becomes a 10 second count down to either play the movie or go to the main menu. But on the backup, there is no way to make a selection so the movie just starts. With the original, the choice is available.
After the conclusion of the movie, the main menu is displayed but again there is no button highlights to change or select, thus no more can be done but select stop.

To la large to fit BD9

Hi Jdobbs, I tried about 4 times to back up Green Zone. 3 times as Movie only to a BD9 size 7.7gb. every time it comes
out to 22.gb and imgburn gives me an error, it said the source is to large to fit BD9. All three time it gives me
this error: Also as you could see from my graphics on the bottom, it has these two compress files with number, I didn't
open them, afraid it could be a self extracting virus..well I don't know what when wrong with this Movie with the
latest ver/BD_Rebuilder I also had a similar problem with THE BOOK OF ELI. "Oh on the four time i did was full movie
with similar out come,in imgburn. source to large to fit on BD25. I am going to try another movie I already backup to
BD5 and try it to BD9. I'll post result to see if is only these two movies have some sort problem:

The last two titles I have done have severe problems with their respective sounds and subtitles.

Both titles were done one after another in batch mode with the same basic setup concerning languages and subtitle streams.

Apocalypto, full backup, 25gb, TRYING to keep the 640 DD sound stream and director's comment.

The main movie does NOT play the normal (Mayan) sound stream - it is muted; DC works.
BUT when using the m2ts in tsmuxer i can demux a 640kb sound stream which even after demuxing to ac3 cannot be played - it seems blank but it's 664.107.520 in size (the identical size as the 4353 stream - cf. below).

Strange thing is: the track is named: xx.4352.ac3 while tsmuxer states the 4353 to tb the DD 640 stream whereas 4352 should be the first soundstream, a 1500 LPCM.

So even if I may have by mistake clicked the first audio track (4352 LPCM) which I cannot remember but thus cannot rule out: why was an AC3 created with seemingly correct file size which does not play?

I demuxed the original AC3 and muxed it back into the rebuilder m2ts and had sound afterwards.

Here are the log files:

Problem #2 is Red Heat - again full backup to 25gb.

This time main movie has all desired sound streams BUT the extras do NOT have any sound at all and only one subtitle stream SPANISH which I have never selected.

This time I have no chance of muxing sound to the extra material because the size won't fit at all and I will do the title again - only question is: what has led to the problems and how may I overcome them.

Third title from this batch run turned out to have errors as well:

Title is: "This is Spinal Tap", full backup 25gb

Problems are these:

Of the 9 subtitle streams for the main movie 3 are totally wrong.
1/9 Dan is French
3/9 Deu is French
5/9 Fin is French

... all others seem correct.

The rebuilder m2ts loaded into tsmuxer states 4 pgs streams:

0 - track=4608, lang=fra
1 - track=4609, lang=nor
2 -track=4610, lang=swe
3 -track=4611, lang=deu

The original m2ts according to tsmuxer has different tracks for those languages:
track=4609, lang=fra
track=4610, lang=deu
track=4611, lang=nor
track=4613, lang=swe

What makes BD RB get off track here?

Problem # 2 is: ONE out roughly a dozen extras/streams does NOT have any audio although the original m2ts has the same soundformat than the stream before or after it and all the other were encoded correctly.

Here are the logs:

Thanks.
I believe this option will only work for BD-25 full backups though.
If BD5/9 full backup is selected, the files need to be reencoded to be AVCHD compliant.
Regardless, there seems to be a problem with BD-RB on some titles, though rare, and I just wanted to inform jdobbs of my experience.

no drop frames problem, but a problem with rebuilding Sherlock Holmes

Hi, thanks for this great tool and forum!
unfortunately, when I am trying to rebuild the movie from the harddrive to BD-R size, it is stopping at the stage of
VID_00178.AVS.264
this happened the 2nd time already

Help is really appreciated!

For example, on 00007.MT2S, BD-RB's log says to encode at over 20Mbs and to create an output file that is 320MB -- but the file is 13MB and extremely blocky. I'll do some more testing to see what's is going on.

Thanks for the report.

[Edit] Looks like it is more trouble from FFMS. If I force the demuxer to LAVF is appears to work properly. Ugghh.. I sure have gotten a lot of headaches trying to fix the dropped frames issue...

@jdobbs I tried again the Princess and the Frog with BD Rebuilder 0.34.02, video is without corruption, but now there is a pause between each m2ts change, then, in order to discard encoding/decoding bugs, I proceeded to use 45.36 GB as Output size so no re-encoding was needed, still the output has the pause problem:

Code:

I don't believe it does, but I don't use eac3to. If you reencoded it, you'd have to use a DD+ encoder. There is no freeware DD+ encoder of which I am aware.

I can't predict what will happen when folks changes the command line via tweaks... so I normally don't respond to bugs reports. But since you're not reencoding, I don't see how the pauses could happen. What player are you using?

Ditto

I am seeing an identical problem with VC-1 video main title (Star Trek IV movie). The Haali filter doesn't extract a thumb for the m2ts file. MPC isn't able to play the file. The file is definitely intact (as for example Nero Showtime will play it fine)...

Thanks
Bob

well I am not sure about "thumb"...for me I can play everything fine (vc-1, h264, whatever), it is just the re-encoding that bombs (only vc-1)..
